"No way! I can't believe it! You lucky bitch!" Katie gasped, nudging my arm. "That's why you didn't answer my text about hanging out, you were wrapped around hottie's arms!"
"I'm still in shock." I laughed.
I had just finished telling Katie about my wonderful date, she seemed excited for me, but not nearly as much as I was excited for myself.
"Is everything alright between you and Diego?" She asked randomly.
"I guess. Why?"
"He's been starring over here ever sense you got here. He doesn't look all that happy." She nodded in his direction.
She was right. He was starring right at me. He had a look of anger and sadness planted on his features. He gripped his beer bottle tightly. He pushed himself from the wooden bench, walking in my direction.
With one hand shoved into his pocket and the other around the base of the beer bottle, he stopped in front of me.
"Katie, can I talk to MJ privately?"
"Yeah." She nodded walking over to where Diego was before he came over here.
"Lets take walk sunshine." He slung his arm other my shoulders as he walked us in the direction of the woods.
The thing about the hangout was it was very secluded, where kids could just hang out and have a few drinks next to the lake, but you could easily get lost if you didn't stay on the trail.
After a few minutes of walking, he stopped in front of 'make-out' rock. It was a rock the sturdy enough to hold at least 8 high school boys, it came right to the edge of the lake, hanging you about 24 feet from it. Luckily there were no couples playing tongue hockey yet- it was too early in the night and no one was even close to drunk enough.
"What's up?" I asked as I sat down next to him on the rock. Out of all the heights I've been on, this was one I could handle. Diego, Katie, Elliot and I have jumped off it so many times, I was used to the height by now. I left my feet dangle off the side.
"I heard all about your date with Danny." He gulped the last of his beer down, tossing the bottle into the woods.
"Is this what you dragged me to 'make-out' rock for?"
"Yes. I want to talk." He stared deeply into my eyes, hope and alcohol vibrated off of him intensely.
"We can talk when you're sober." I got up, but he quickly grabbed my hand, turning me back to face him.
"Was it really the best date of your life?" He blinked rapidly.
"Diego, we don't have to talk about this now." I whispered. I felt bad, only because he looked so sad and disappointed.
"No. I want to talk right fucking now!" He growled making me jump at his aggression.
"Okay. Just calm down."
"How the fuck do you expect me to calm down? I've told you countless times how big of an asshole that guy is and yet he manages to get you to go out with him. And it was the best date of you life. What did you say he stopped kissing you for?" He spoke so harshly.
"Because he didn't want to mess things up for us." I whispered.
"No. I want the real reason!" He spat.
"That is the real reason!" I crossed my arms.
"No, the real reason he stopped himself was because he was turned on by you. He was testing if you would let him get into your pants. That's all that was about."
