The next morning I woke up to the sun blinding my eyes.

"Today is the day, " I thought to myself, "we've got this"
And with that, I got up and got dressed like every other day at the orphanage. I slip on my one of a few jean shorts and my dark green shirt I've been given last Christmas and my black and white shoes.

"Morning, Mrs.Crousel, " I said a bit too loud and cheerful. I know this is supposed to be a scary day but I can't help but feel overly excited, "how's it going?"

"It's going great, Charmel," she says
She seems a bit sad but probably cause I'm leaving today.

"What are my chores for today?" I ask

"A couple of dishes, sweep the top floor, and do the toddlers laundry."

"Alright then," I say with a smile and start doing my very last dishes here. I will never be forced to do the laundry for the stinking toddler. I'll be free. And with Seamus. It's a dream I never thought I would dream.

"Boo!" Seamus cries as he tickles me in the waist behind me.

"Oh my God! Seamus, you scared me to death" I say still laughing.

"You can't die today, " he says, "cause, today, is a special day."

"Yeah?" I say with an emotion I can't specify

"You and I, were an alright team don't you think?" He tells more than asks.

"Let's not get our hopes up," I say
His face turns sad and serious.
"What's wrong?"

"What did you dream about?" He asks

"They were running away from this familiar building but then the girl got shot in the leg...and..and" I couldn't finish. I just couldn't.

"Hey, hey. Take it easy" he's so reassuring sometimes.

"I don't know why but I felt a connection with that place and time."
And it's true. It felt as if I knew that place. Was in that time. Knew the people.

I'm done all my chores by the time its almost lunch time. I'm starving, I forgot breakfast.
"Seamus!" I yell to upstairs

"Yeah?" Seamus yes back

"Are you done?"

"Almost, just need to finish up"

"Need some help?" I offer

"Uhh...probably not but thanks"
I go upstairs to where he is anyways. I know that he's just being nice and does need help.
When I get up there be hands me the broom without a second thought.

"You ought to stop trying to be nice"

"You ought to start being a bit rude or else you won't survive a day out there," he says laughing.

"I can be rude!" I say trying to defend myself. To be honest I am a bit too nice. Last week we were given our monthly snacks like chocolate and chips. But the toddler finished his and asked me for some of mine. I couldn't say no and especially to a cute face like his. Even though he can be a devil at times.
Seamus gives a chuckle
"Sure you can princess"

"I'm not a princess"
Seamus and I always joke around like this. He knows I hate being called princess, I don't know the reason why though. It's just a feeling of hatred every time I'm called that.

"Let's get to work then sir," he says sarcastically

"Alright then miss"
We both slither into a giggle fit.

A few minutes later we are at the lunch table in the kitchen.
It's only me, Seamus, the toddler and Mrs.Crousel.
There's not much of us anymore. The other kids started talking about remembering things they didn't understand and the very next day they were gone all 4 of them. It's as if they never even existed.
My dreams are kept secret.
They aren't memories.
I think. I'm sure. Pretty sure.
Whatever.
Mrs.Crousel always keeps them secret. For me. She cares too much.

"That was good, Mrs.Crousel" Seamus commented brightly.

"Why thank you, Seam" Mrs.Crousel calls him 'seam' at times.

"Yeah, really good Crousel." I smile
She smiles back at not me only but Seamus too.

"Well Charmel, " he turns to me "shall we, my pretty little princess?" He gives a tiny chuckle.

"I most certainly want to kill you for calling me that first of all. And second, we shall" I reply
Seamus and I got up from our chairs and headed upstairs for our bags.

Once we get up to my room and Seamus comes behind me and starts to mumble something.

"What did you say?"

"Nevermind," he says a bit shy
"Ok.."

"Hey you know, we should say what we want to say now in case you know: things go wrong."
I go up and put my hand to his chest like I always do to comfort him.

"Nothing will go wrong. And if they don't go as planned then I know you'll get us on the next plan."
He looks as if his eyes are holding a secret he wants to tell badly.

"Tell me more," he says grinning now

"Your strong and my best friend. I love you now and forever." He looked sad at that but it left really quick as if it wasn't there in the first place.

"More, " he demands, "tell me more"

"There is this one thing that you'd die to hear but..." I cut myself off

"Well, what is it?" He's curious
I walk away from him and go to my small balcony.

"Charmel, get back here and tell me"
He catches up with me and were standing close to each other in my balcony.
I nod my head as an answer.

"Well if you won't tell me..then I've got no other choice but to-"
He leans in forward faster than I could imagine without a second thought and his lips touched mine.

For a second I'm doing the same thing to him back until I back away from the shock.
"What's wrong?" He asks urgently
Both surprised and sad at the same time.

"What is this?" I ask him

"It's a kiss," he says
"A what?"

"I watched it on tv. A boy or girl gives one another a kiss to show that they have feelings that go beyond friendship."

"I have a feeling that goes beyond friendship for you." I smile coyly
He gives me another one of those things you call a "kiss" and I let him

"Leggo" he sticks out a hand for me and I take it happily.
