Stampy was a ginger cat, he was also VERY fat. Stampy loved eating cake, he wasn't like a normal cat who liked to eat fish and drink milk he ate cake and drank milk.
He was sitting with his friend Squid making plans for the day.
"I think we should go mining, then build a house for our dogs, then build a farm and feed the animals." wrote Stampy messily onto the paper.
"Stampy!" Cried Squid "You'll be run off your feet and be oh so sleepy afterwards!"
Stampy didn't listen to Squid, oh no he didn't. Instead he did exactly what was on his list with Squid.
"Stampy no no no!" Squid rose his tentacles in the air as Stampy kept digging for treasure "This is too much! You silly fat cat you'll be so sleepy!"
Stampy turned to Squid "I'm not fat!" He huffed, his tail swishing unhappily "I'm just fluffy...."
"Stampy" Pleaded Squid, pulling the cat back towards the way out "You eat cake ALL the time and all this work will run you off your little paws!"
Stampy put his paw down at that. He didn't like being told what to do. "Listen Squid! I can take care of myself! I don't need to be told what I can and can't do! And I'M NOT FAT!" Stampy hissed.
Squid's heart broke. Stampy NEVER yelled at him like that. He took a deep breath and turned away "Fine then! I'll leave you alone!" The poor Squid walked away out the mine and back to a body of water where he could sit and pout.
Stampy ignored Squid leaving and kept digging, his white paws becoming dirty and a greyish brown colour. Deep down though, Stampy's heart hurt from fighting with Squid! The pair did EVERYTHING together!
Sure maybe they pulled dirty tricks on each other like the time Squid was jumping from one ledge to another only for Stampy to push him off the ledge but nothing ever REALLY came between them!
It was getting dark out and Stampy still hadn't come out the mine he was in and Squid was getting worried.
"Go get him!" Squid told himself "So what that he yelled at you! Stampy is your best friend and he needs you like you need water!" Squid shouted to himself. That made up his mind!
Off marched Squid all the way to the mine where he began to run down the tunnel- until he tripped!
BONK! THUD! CRASH!
Squid landed on his head to see light in the distance: It had to have been Stampy!
Squid sat up and rubbed his head before walking towards the light: Only what he saw made a smile appear: Stampy was on the ground, curled up into a little ball, fast asleep.
"Oh you silly Cat! I knew you'd be run off your paws!" Squid lifted Stampy and carried the heavy feline all the way back to their little home.
"There!" Sighed Squid as he put Stampy on the bed and pulled up the covers, tucking him in "He should sleep better now!"
Squid hugged Stampy and smiled, whispering to his best friend "We may fight. But I love you so much! Good night Stampy"
Squid got into bed and turned off the light, dreaming of tomorrow and the trouble the pair would get into.
