Mavy intertwined her hand in Joel's as they stood together, awed, listening to Peter recite the prophecies before continuing, "Listen, Jesus was approved of God, proved by God to be God with the miracles, signs, and wonders that we all saw! But God knew before the time that Jesus would be delivered by wickedness to crucify. But God has raised Him from the dead, He couldn't be held by death! Remember what David said! I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved:

Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. We know that our father David is dead and buried, we have his grave here, but he was a prophet, and God had promised that his seed would bring forth Christ who should sit on his throne. He prophesied of the resurrection of Jesus, and we have seen Him! He is sitting on the throne, high and exalted, and has now given us His promised Holy Ghost, which is what you see and hear. Know this, Israel! Jesus is Lord and Christ!"

Troubled voices rang out, "What shall we do now?"

"Repent! Be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, for this promise is for you too! And for your children! And for everyone the Lord Himself shall call! Save yourselves from this untoward generation!"

Sadly, not many listened to his warning and exhortations, but they that did were baptized that same day, and the group of believers grew from just over one hundred to three thousand! God may not have been with them in the physical, but His power was actively at work through His chosen.

Things had changed in Mavy's house. The siblings, while still having their moments, as all siblings do have a change of heart and attitudes towards even each other. In every heart, the Lord had worked in and poured out His Spirit, signs followed! Proofs of the Holy Spirit living within them.

Mavy and the other women gladly opened their homes to each other where they would fellowship over food, praying for safekeeping and for the word of God to grow mightily even in their day. Not only among the children of the people of God was their a calm and a love that had never been before, but even as adults, they came gladly, living as if in communal living, everything was shared and dispersed as needs arose, there was no hoarding, no selfishness, all were in one accord. Joy unspeakable and full of glory had come to the people of God, just as the Lord had promised. Their joy should be full. Daily, the Lord continued the work of drawing men to Himself, such as should be saved.

It was a time of mirth, rest, and harmony, of growing and loving and being together, strengthening each other in the Lord.
