2 months went buy since Kayaba told us that we were trapped in this game. He had mentioned that if we die in the game, we die irl. Also, if someone on the outside takes the Nerve Gear off of us, our brain will get fried and kill us as well. The only way for us to get out of this place would be to finished all 100 floors of the castle Aincrad.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention, Kayaba put a mirror in everyone's inventory that made our Avatars dissapear and show our real faces and bodies. Needless to say, that really made me a little upset. Though, obviously not as upset as the whole "I could die" thing.
Anyway, like I said, 2 months have gone by. 2 months no one has gotten passed the first floor, let alone even find the boss. Not even the beta testers could find it, but thankfully they were nice enough to hand out free guides on the bosses.
Within these 2 months, thousands of people have died... Not surprisingly, a good portion of them were suicides. There was a board in the middle of town with all the people who have died, but I've refrained from looking there in fear that I might see people I know that I didnt know were in the game as well.
Thankfully, none of the guild were dead. Though, there have been a few close calls, especially when we went to go try to find the boss. We came across some spiders who poisoned a few of the guys. Luckily, some of us had antidotes that we gave them.
Well, everyone heard tell that someone found the boss room. There was gonna be a public meeting for those who wished to help. Ty and a few other guild members wanted to go, but the majority of us thought it would be a suicide mission, so after some decision making and voting, we just stayed back and let others handle it for now. We wanted to make sure our guild was created and sturdy before we risked our lives on a boss.
Thank god we didn't go fight the boss. We heard that the leader of the people fighting it died as well as a good handful of others. Apparently the boss was doing something it never did in the beta tests. It was some girl and a (sort of asshole) beta tester that managed to kill the boss. Even so, if we went, I was sure at least some of us would die.
After the boss room was cleared, we were able to head up to the second floor. As we migrated with the majority of others who were making their way to floor too, I couldnt help but notice a change of attitude. It felt like people were starting to have a new sense of hope. I could even see this change in the guild, which in turn gave me hope as well.
With all the extra hope and confidence, everyone seemed more determaimed to finish this game. The suicide rate dropped immensely, but obviously wasnt gone completely. Not everyone felt the same hope as the rest of us.
The guild spent almost all day, everyday grinding out more levels on this new floor. There were so many new creatures and plenty of more loot. The only one who didnt like all the grinding was Ty's friend A. He was known amongst the group as the one who hated anything "grindy". He even thought Minecraft was "too grindy". But we made him suck it up since he couldnt just go to a non-grindy game now.
Needless to say, I was actually starting to have fun. It was heartwarming to see Ty and his friends get along with E, her boyfriend W, and his friends. I was a little worried at first since Ty doesn't like new people very often, but he seemed to enjoy having them around.
It didnt take long for us to power through the floors now. Obviously it took some time with each floor, but it definently took less than 2 months for each floor.
By floor 37, we finally decided to settle into a guildhall. We found one that we all really liked and finally became an official guild. To celebrate being a guild, we had a few of us with a higher culinary skill, including E and I, made a huge dinner. We hired some NCP musicians as well. We partied and ate and just had fun in general. That was the first of many amazing nights I had with the guild.
The guildhall itself was amazing! It had a huge dining room, which the table could be "stored away", leaving a large area for things like dancing! On the far side of the dining room was a fireplace with a large area above for a picture. Downstairs was the kitchen/storage. The stairs lead right into the kitchen, which took up most of the basement. The farside had the storage which had plenty of barels and chests. Underneath the basement were the bedrooms. Rooms lined the long hallway, perfectly fitting the number of guildmembers we had. At the end of the hallway was a large door. That door led to the master bedroom, which belonged to the guild master and anyone he allowed inside, which would include me since I was dating the guild master.
The day after our celebration, we decided to fill the space above the fireplace. We got together and took a picture of all of us. We got it framed and hung it above the fireplace. We all stood back and took a nice look at the picture. I couldnt help but notice how happy we all looked.
