Chapter 12

I looked at Jesse, who looked like she might just rip Alex a new ass hole, and decided to intervene before we were both mateless.

"Awww Alex, the big brother act is freaking adorable! You know I'm just playing, like I know you're playing, but careful now brother, others might take you seriously!"

By now I had turned my back on Jesse and was giving Alex wide eyes to calm him and get him to save his own ass. Luckily Vince was a bit more astute than my knuckle headed brother, and gave a pretty convincing laugh which I joined. Alex caught on real quick from there.

"Well I had to try it at least once right!? Too forced? Like you'd ever let me get away with something like that anyway! Hey Jesse, what's Carter up to these days anyway? Haven't seen him in ages!" Alex comments calmly. Damn! This boy should be on a stage!

I look over at Jesse and see she's definitely calmed down. She actually looks sort of embarrassed and apologetic. Alex fucking owes me and Vince!

While the lovebirds walk outside to talk, I join Vince on the couch.

"So that just happened! So I'm an elemental huh!? And that's a good thing right!? Does this mean if I can figure out how to control my powers, I'll have it easy against Jai?"

Vince looks at me in surprise.

"Aww shit! With everything else going on, I forgot about that guy! I think Alex did too, otherwise he wouldn't have freaked out about Carter!" He says with a big sigh.

"What's the deal with this Carter guy?" I ask him seriously. I like to gather Intel on all players that's going to be on my board, and if he's related to Jesse than he's on my board. Vince sighs even louder but answers,

"Honestly I don't know what it is, he's good looking, but most wolves are. He's charismatic, I guess. I don't know what to tell you, I'm not into guys! But he is a fuckboy! He's run through pretty much all the single females in his pack and quite a few in other packs too. The only thing I respect about him is that he doesn't get involved with humans!" He says. I frown at that.

"What's wrong with having sex with humans?" I ask him, still frowning.

"Nothing really if you're a female, since she-wolves  can only get pregnant by wolves..." I put my hand up to stop him.

"Wait! Really? So if I don't want to have kids, I can just fuck a human and never have to worry?" I ask. He frowns fiercely before blanking his expression and nodding slowly.

"Yeah I guess, but it never works out well. For one thing you won't age like a human. Does Mikael look like he's old enough to be your dad? Nope. We live ALOT longer than humans. Secondly you'll never be able to be free during sex, because you'll have to be constantly aware of your strength. You don't want to break your partner right!? But with a wolf you can let go! You can enjoy the experience fully! You can feel their heat! Hear their heartrate. Smell their need for you. Taste their excitement. All without having to hide who and what you are!"

He was so passionate in his speech. I hadn't noticed that we had leaned towards each other as he was speaking. But when I felt his breath on my lips I realized that I was aroused. The boy has a deep, mesmerizing voice. And he's soo fine. I could feel myself get wet, and Vince inhales my scent and groans. Just as I'm going to move in to kiss him, he moves back.

What!? I see him throw his head against the head rest of the couch with his eyes squeezed shut and his fists clenched tight! He opens them soon after and just stares at me. He leans towards me again and runs his hands down my arms until he's holding my hands.

"No sparks Lox!" He says. I laugh in relief.

"I'm not trying to trap you into marriage Vince. I'm just horny and you're hot! No need to make it into a big deal!" I tell him. He frowns slightly and shakes his head.
