I go wave goodbye to my mom as I take Lilly to the bus stop, Lilly and I take the bus to school every day even though dad can drive us. Saving gas for the win? Yea, no thanks, the bus sucks! Everyone throws stuff on it and there's always a fight breaking out! My friends get a ride to school by their parents so they don't worry about anything!

I force a smile onto my face as the banana comes to a stop in front of us. I pull Lilly inside the bus by her hand and we spot a seat in the front and sit down. I take a glance behind me and roll my eyes when I see one of the 7th graders throwing around a 4th graders bag.

I look over at Lilly to see her with her headphones inside her ears already and reading her manga. I sigh and put in my earphones to and let Katy Perry blast her music into my ears along with other artists. I can't help but grin when Talk Dirty comes in.

I look outside the window until I feel Lilly's hands on my shoulders shaking me. I scowl and take me earphones off in furry, I hate it when people interrupt my music time, "What do you want Lilly?" I ask.

"Can I have a pencil? I didn't do my math homework," She gave me a sheepish smile and I rolled my eyes and grabbed my backpack. Of course, Lilly doesn't have a pencil! She always leaves them in her locker or at home.

"Did mom give you your birthday present?" Lilly asked as I opened one pocket of my bookbag and found just a notebook and an old muffin.

"She never did..." I opened my another bag and spotted the pencil, I was about to grab it when I saw a small white box inside and I furrowed my brows, "What is this?" I asked as I took it out and I gasped when I saw the apple branding on the side.

"Well, mom is awesome at surprises isn't she?" Lilly said and I nodded with my mouth still open as I opened the box revealing a brand new Iphone 5 in gold.

"Mine..."

"Can I see?" Lilly reached for the phone and I slapped her hand away.

"Mine," I repeated.

"Is that all you can say right now?"

"Mine." I turned it on and the white screen said Hello in big letters and I squealed, "Hello..." I quickly swiped through all the things that it said in the beginning and once the phone was in the home screen I went for the message button.

I love you!

I pressed send and the message was sent to my mom.

"I am so happy!" I say and Lilly rolls her eyes and reaches into my bookbag and grabs the pencil herself.

I'm downloading apps and adding a password to my new phone when the bus comes to a stop finally, we get off the bus and I put my phone in my pocket.

Our school is an old large greyish building in between two streets so there's a corner store just at the end of one of the streets. Sometimes when the bus comes early Lilly and I go and buy some candy for lunch.

Bushes and small trees surround the edges of the sidewalk but since it's September they're already starting to lose leaves. I entered the school and turned left to the white staircase that led to the second floor, of course, I have my classes in the third floor along with Lilly.

Lilly is in the 7th grade while I am in the 8th grade so we have our classes in the same floor along with the 6th graders. I walk to my right and trace my finger around the windows on the ledge to keep us from falling off and pressing charges against the school.

Thew view down below is rather nice, you get to see everyone down below scurry to their correct floor or others rushing to the office to get paperwork done. In the center of the floor, in the first floor, there is a large puma with the schools name around it in golden letters.

After the hallways ended I took another right to the wooden staircase, that's what's weird about the school, the second and first-floor look so modern but the third floor and the staircases leading to it are old looking and made of wood.

I climbed up when my stomach decided to twist and turn, your job is to digest food not give me pain! I clutched my stomach until I reached the top of the stairs, "What's wrong May?" Lilly asked gloriously standing straight and healthy.

I shot her a look, "My stomach hurts, a lot," I say and then the pain just seems to increase as if I hadn't eaten in days."I'm really, really hungry now Lilly," I stared at her backpack and she sighed, she quickly removed it from her back and opened one of the pockets to reveal a perfectly good honey bun, hershey bar, snickers, Oreo, and a Twinkie.

I snatched the Oreos from her bag and eat them in a rush, but they seemed to please my stomach very little,"Why do you have a Twinkie in there? I thought they made your stomach hurt so bad you almost puke," I asked her and she shrugged.

"That's a special Twinkie, there was this guy yesterday who tried to get my manga and write on it," She frowned at the memory and shook her head sadly, "Poor kid doesn't know who he is messing with."

Lilly is victoriously known for her pranks, if you mess with her you better start being as paranoid as possible because she will be coming for you. Lilly and I are the ultimate team, if someone messes with one of us we have each others' backs, of course sometimes we take care of things ourselves.

I stood up straighter and gave Lilly a reassuring smile, "Let's get to class or Ms. Wilkins will blow a fuse." Ms.Wilkins is my homeroom/english teacher and she is just the worse! It's like she has a stick shoved up her ass all day and night.

I moved to my right to see all the navy blue lockers aligning the wall. I looked at one locker number., 1269 I kept going straight until I found my locker near the corner of the hallways, 1298. I spun the combination and opened it.

I stuffed my bookbag inside and grabbed ahold of my binders for english and math. After math, I would come back and grab my other binders for my last three classes: Art, science, and History. History is my favorite class but only because our teacher makes it fun, we have vocabulary and he shows us funny pictures to go with the vocab.

I entered Ms. Wilkins class after closing my locker. She already stood my the board glaring at me as I sat down next to my friend, Angela. Her black hair fell straight on her back and her brown eyes moved as her pencil moved across the paper writing down todays Do Now.

Every morning we had to do a Do Now for every class, that way the teacher could think of some random crap to give us for the rest of the day. I listened to her drone on about refugees, our recent topic, in Vietnam and their struggles as refugees.

She handed everyone the book Inside Out and Back Again and we started to read about a Vietnamese girl named Kim Ha. I sighed when I saw the book is written in poems, this is going to be a long class.

Or not.

The pain in my stomach only increased and I raised my hand, okay I waved my hand frantically. Ms. Wilkins pointed at me, "Yes, May?"

"I need to go to the nurse's office my stomach hurts really badly!" I say and I can feel the whole classes' eyes on me. What is wrong with them? Am I committing a crime by asking to go to the nurse's office?

Ms. Wilkins thought for a moment and I could feel the hairs on my arms raising at the thought of her saying no, "Fine, come up here for a pass." I grinned and got up quickly as she wrote down a pass for me.

I grabbed the pass and hurried out of the classroom as if my pants were lit on fire.

Too bad I never made it to the nurse's office.
