(This is an omega verse. If you are not aware of what an omega verse is a brief description will be placed at the bottom. Otherwise, per usual, Izuku is an omega and Katsuki is an alpha.)
Izuku's P.O.V.
Today was the day everyone in UA had been anticipating nearly all year. Everyone was currently all packed in a room, sitting with friends. I couldn't help but get lost in the excitement, letting the wave of conversation lead me through the large room. My eyes widened and glistened as I watched everyone engage in conversation. My ears occasionally caught words from different conversations. I couldn't help but listen in on the gossip and assumptions others were making. It was inevitable that others would be making jokes and wondering their giving fate. For today everyone would meet their soulmate. It happened every year, the annual soulmate search. Everyone would line up and by midnight be able to smell their soulmate. The situation was slightly different for me though, I was a mere omega so I couldn't smell my soulmate. I simply had to wait to be claimed by the person who was literally made for me. Some people's soulmates could have been across the world for all they knew, and some could be standing right next to them. For all I knew my soulmate was someone I had never met, or someone I was already very close with. The mystery only added to the fun, and the anxiety. What if one of our soulmates were a villain, and we hated them for that? What if our soulmate didn't love us? What if we were mateless? Many questions raced around each teen's head as we all awaited midnight. I finally made my way to my group of friends, them also participating in the trend of guessing whom their soulmate may be?
"Hey Deku!" Uraraka greeted me kindly.
"H-Hey!" I replied, but ultimately greeting everyone in the small group.
"So Midoriya who do you assume your soulmate will be?" Iida asked while using his signature hand gesture.
"O-Oh, I- Um- I honestly don't know..." I replied, my face heating up slightly at the thought.
"How about you Todoroki-Kun? Who do you think your soulmate will be?" Uraraka continued asking around the group with her usual bubbly and excited tone.
My ears detached from the conversation and decided to surf along the sea of conversations among the room. As my ears tuned in and out my eyes also wondered, landing on a specific ash blonde. Kacchan was also standing in a group, but was obviously not partaking in the conversation. He too let his eyes wonder. I couldn't help but stare for a few moments, until his eyes caught my gaze. His emotionless face sprouted a smirk. I felt my face heat up as I quickly looked away, my group's conversation suddenly becoming a priority.
"Okay listen up everybody" Mr. Aizawa spoke into the microphone with his tired voice.
The room began to settle as everyone's attention was directed at the teacher. Everyone's eyes widened as the entire room was filled with eager teens.
"So, as you all know you will be searching for your soulmates tonight. As you may also know your soulmate may be across the world. Therefore once their scent reaches your nose you shall know where they are, and if you must travel far you are to report to that desk over there. There you will file for transportation. Though it is likely that a majority of you will find your soulmates in this very room. Despite that school is being delayed for a week so you may find your partner, decide how you want to deal with it, and possibly get comfortable with a new relationship" Aizawa sensei explained, not seeming to impressed by the whole ordeal.
When his words stopped the room sprung to life again, the conversation roaring.
"Alriiigghhhttt!" Present mic took the microphone and called for everyone's attention. "Midnight is only five minutes away! Everyone liiinnnee up!" Present mic gave directions and everyone happily complied.
