Chapter Twelve

I slept little to none. Ice was not in much better shape. There were dark circles under both of our eyes. Thor came by to check on us and I could see he hasn't slept much either. My other Uncle, Balder, came by which was surprising. He wasn't around much saying that two of his brothers killed him and sent him to Helium with Hel. He always tries to stay out and exploring as he never knows when his times will come to an end. As he has been killed twice already. Honestly, I think he is trying to stay away from Loki as Loki honestly hates the man. Not that I blame him. Currently, Ice and I were staring at the ceiling waiting for the nine o'clock alarm to go off. 

"Ice, how do you think it will go today?"

I knew he knew that I was talking about the trial because it was the one thing that was worrying both of us. I also knew that we would see everyone today. The list of those that were killed or tortured. The pictures of everything he did. Any recordings they had against him. Everything. The last thing I wanted to see was Lash jumping through as May and Floe were killed but it would be there. Same with him freezing and torturing the peopled that helped us all those years ago. I also knew we would see Dak, Shadow, and Clint today. They were the main guards that made sure Lash didn't well lash out. Rain would be here as well to escort us down to the courts. Rain was going to have his ceremony soon to get the full power of Frey as he was now the representative of him. Ice got a different responsibility now. He had full power to protect everyone in this kingdom.

"I honestly don't know but I am dreading the names, and proof they will be holding against Lash."

"Me too. Me too."

A knock came to the door disturbing both our thoughts. Ice was the first to get up to answer the door. Rain came in a panic and sat down in one of the chairs in the room. 

"Ok good you guys obviously haven't slept either..."

"No, we didn't Rain you do realize you just came barging in your pajamas.?"

He looked down at his clothes then put his head in his hands. 

"I know, I know. I am not exactly...happy about today. Wait happily is not the right word..."

"Rain calm down. We understand what you are saying. We are not ready for this either. To see the full consequence of what Lash did. I think all the royals are worried."

Rain looked at me and then at the alarm clock that we have been waiting to go off. Ice and I were now sitting up listening to Rain as he rambled. He was obviously more upset than what he lets on. 

"...I also don't want to see the list of names because I know my cousins are going to be there and they weren't even killed by him. He just didn't come in at the right time to save them in time. He was debating whether to escape and risk losing control or save you guys..."

I spaced out and the only reason why I heard the ending part was that Ice intruded on his brother to try and calm him down. 

"Rain, Brother. We all are. Everyone in this room is on the same boat as you. We are both freaked out and worried about Lash. I bet if you went to talk to Clint, Shadow, and Dak they would all say the same thing. Only I think most of the royals would say the same thing. Maybe not Sif since both of the original big two were killed in front of her, but I do think she does realize that is wasn't his doing. She has seen him lose control before."

"Ice, honey I don't mean to intrude on you but the alarm is going to go off in 15 minutes so I think your brother should go back to his room to get ready. I don't think he would find it very comfortable to wear your clothes."

The boys looked at me before Rain stood up the same time as Ice. They gave each other a hug goodbye and Ice walked him to the door. He came back to me quietly before giving his look of do I tell her or not.
