HER

Thanksgiving

5:30 P.M.

I didn't hear from Scar all day so I assumed she was busy helping her parents prepare for the dinner tonight so I didn't bother her.  I spent the entire day chilling with my mom but now it was time for us to get ready for the dinner.

I showered and got dressed in a black top,black leather skinny pants, black and white leather jacket and pink heels. I wore my hair down to the side and completed my look with pink accessories, I looked fresh.  (see image above).

I headed upstairs and waited for my mom. I texted Emp and told her I'll be at her house in 15 minutes so be ready. My mom came downstairs looking beautiful, went into the kitchen and got the sweet potato pie she made earlier.

"You look beautiful mom" I said to her with a smile as we got in the car. I started the engine and we left to pick up Emp.

"Thanks hunny...so do you" she said while brushing my hair out my face.

We arrived at Emp's house and I honked the horn several times for her, she took forever to come to the car. She walked outside wearing a white pants, red and white Jordon's, red T-shirt with a black jacket and her hair in a high ponytail. She looked dope as usual.

She got in the car and greeted us.

" You lucky you my cousin.. I would've left your as...butt"  I said as I sped off onto the highway, she and my mom laughed.

I followed the directions Scar sent me via text on my phone before we left the house. I pulled up to her house an hour later. It was a fucking mansion lol. 

"Well damnn ...lemme find out she Richie Rich in this bitch!" Emp said out loud as she stuck her head out the car window to get a better view of the house.

"Hey watch your mouth." My mom said as she tapped her before we got out the car.

"Yoo don't be acting crazy in these people house mane. " I said.

"Ohh I know how to act right...you just watch" Emp said as she straightened her jacket.

We walked up to the door and rang the bell, shortly after Mrs. Williams came and answered the door with a smile.

"Nevaeh welcome....this is your mom and cousin I assume?" She asked looking at them.

"Yes this is my mom Sherry Johnson and my cousin Empress." I told her, she greeted them both.

"Hello my lady" Emp said as she bowed infront of Mrs. Williams who looked at her like she was crazy. I shook my head and pulled her back.

My mom handed Mrs. Williams the pie. As we entered the house she took our jackets and told us make ourselves comfortable dinner will be ready shortly.

Scar came and hugged us and introduced us to some of her family members and friends. Emp's eyes was going crazy.

"No Emp...they're all off limits" Scar said to her.

"Oh word?  I bet they panties saying otherwise....soak soak lol" She laughed as we all sat down at the table. I sat next to Scar and my mom and Emp sat across from us. Mrs. Williams brought the food out, we prayed and began eating. Soon after the doorbell rang and Mrs. Williams quickly got up and answered it.

"Scarlet sweetheart... look who showed up....Michael Hart" her mom said to her as old dude walked in along side Mrs. Williams . I looked at him up and down, he ain't got shit on me that's for sure. Scar smiled and told him hi.

"Nevaeh can you move over one so Michael can sit next to Scarlet please " I looked at her then at Scar to see if she'll say anything but she didn't so I moved over and let basketball head sit inbetween us.  I was pissed.

After we ate everyone got up from the table and started socializing. Classical music played through the house, I watched Emp's facial expression that read what the fuck is this shit... I laughed and picked up the dishes from the table to hand to Mrs. Williams and Scar in the kitchen.

I walked in and overhead their conversation.

"Michael is the perfect man for you Scarlet... He's smart and such a gentleman."  Mrs. Williams said as she washed the dishes.

" I can't mother " 

"Don't mean to intrude but she really can't " I said handing Mrs. Williams the dirty dishes.

"And why not? " Mrs. Williams asked as she took the dishes from me then looked at Scar.

"Because she's already in a relationship. " I said looking at Scar to chime in but her head was down.

"Is that true sweetheart?" Mrs. Williams asked with a smile.  Scar lifted her head and looked at her with sad eyes.

"Yes mother...it's true" she replied.

"Finally!!...it's about time...it has been farrrr to long... So who is he?  Where is he and why didn't you invite him? "  Mrs. Williams asked in excitement. Scar looked at me and I nodded letting her know now is the perfect time.

"He is a she and she was invited. " Scar answered in a soft tone.

"What? ...I don't quite understand" Mrs. Williams said with a confused expression on her face.  Scar sighed.

"I'm gay mother and Nevaeh is my girlfriend."  Scar said as she reached out to touch her mother's hand but she quickly removed it and took off her apron.

"Excuse me ladies"  Mrs. Williams said as she walked around me and out the kitchen. Scar started to cry so I walked over to her to comfort her but she pushed me away. 

"Don't touch me... this is all your fault!.." she yelled at me, tears rolling down her face.

"Scar just know that I love you and w..."

"It was nice meeting you and your family Nevaeh but I'm sorry you'll must leave now" Mr. Williams interrupted as he walked into the kitchen. I looked at him and nodded.

Mrs. Williams probably told him to tell us to leave.  (end of thought).

"I'll call you...remember I'm here for you no matter what. " I assured Scar before I left out the kitchen.

"Let's go guys" I told Emp and mom as I headed towards the door.

"Aweeee.. we leaving already?..The party was so turnt!. " Emp said sarcasticly as she rushed out infront of me.

I handed mom her car keys.

"Are you ok hunny?" my mom asked as we got into the car. She started the engine and drove off.

"No... I think I messed up...I pushed Scar into telling her mom and now she isn't talking to me and her mom is upset with her" I said sadly on the verge of tears.

"Ohh Vaeh hunny...you should've waited until she was ready."  my mom replied.

"Yeah mom I see that now" I sighed as I stared out the window, tears rolling down my face.

"It'll be ight cousin..she can't be mad forever" Emp said as she rubbed my shoulders. 

We continued the rest of the ride home in silence.
