yeosang returned to the donut shop the next day, eager to get another donut to eat. he found a delicious looking vanilla one, coated in strawberry sauce. he placed it on a tray and then on the counter, as usual. he expected to see mari, but saw someone else instead.

"nari? you're here today?" yeosang blinked with surprise.

nari smiled at him. "yeah. mari had to go somewhere."

yeosang's mouth formed an o with understanding. while nari placed the donut in a box, yeosang mustered up courage to open his mouth and say, "canihaveyournumber?"

"pardon?" nari piped up, confused.

yeosang swallowed and repeated his words again. "canihaveyournumber?"

nari still looked puzzled, so yeosang sighed and repeated as slowly as he could, "can i have your number?" at nari's surprised face yeosang panicked and started babbling, "it's not because i want to stalk you or anything, i just think you're cool and i want to be friends and oh my goodness what am i saying now—"

nari chuckled at yeosang's blushing cheeks. "it's okay, yeosang." she smiles. then she started blushing. "i was just going to ask you the same thing. i also would very much like to be friends with you."

yeosang smiled, feeling relieved. his face still beetroot red, though, which proved to be quite a funny sight. nari giggled.

"you blush a lot, don't you?" nari smiled.

yeosang covered his cheeks with embarrassment. nari only laughed harder.

meanwhile, behind a nearby door, mari and wooyoung were busy spying on then.

"aw, aren't they cute," mari cooed.

"they would make a great couple," wooyoung grinned cheekily. "i can't wait to start spying on their dates."

mari elbowed wooyoung in the ribs. "no spying! that's rude! you have to respect their privacy!"

"fine, fine," wooyoung huffed. "you're no fun."

and mari only smirked.
