"stop moving around so much!" wooyoung reprimanded. "you look like you have fire ants in your pants."

"i'm nervous, alright?" yeosang shot back. "this is my first ever date. i don't know how it's supposed to work and all."

wooyoung slapped his forehead. "you really are hopeless."

"right now is not the time for insults," yeosang reprimanded. "can you help me out?"

"help you out how?" wooyoung raised his brows.

yeosang groaned. "tell me how this works."

wooyoung smiled and held his friend's shoulder. "okay. pay attention. first of all, don't look too nervous. it will make her awkward."

"i already made her feel awkward a long time ago." yeosang interrupted.

wooyoung whacked the back of yeosang's head. "don't interrupt me while i'm speaking! anyways, second thing: if you want to hold her hand, make it seem as nonchalantly as possible. don't freak out about it. just don't. not a good idea man."

"okay, okay." yeosang frowned. "and third thing?"

"last of all," wooyoung paused for effect and suspense. "relax and have fun. it's a date, after all."

yeosang sighed. "that still isn't stopping me from feeling so nervous."

"just try to chillax!" wooyoung punched yeosang lightly on the shoulder. he looked around and gasped, before grinning mischievously at yeosang.

"here she comes!" he grins, before starting to walk away. "have fun!"

"woo, wait—" yeosang called for his friend, but he had already left. grumbling about false friendships, yeosang turned back around and was stunned to see nari standing there.

"ah! you scared me!" yeosang yelped.

nari chuckled. she wore a simple, casual outfit—a simple blue shirt and light blue jeans, along with some white shoes. her long brown hair is brushed and neat. despite how simple she looked, yeosang couldn't stop thinking how beautiful and cute she seemed.

"you look great," the words escaped from yeosang's lips before he could stop them.

nari chuckled nervously and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "thanks."

yeosang smiled, trying to ignore his fast beating heart as he placed his hand out for nari to take. "shall we?"

nari smiled, took his hand, and they both entered the cinema.

"and the part where he accidentally tripped and spilled all the punch?" yeosang imitated the silly character's moves, making nari burst into laughter. "that was the most hilarious thing i saw all day."

nari smiled at yeosang. there was a part of the movie they watched that was a romantic scene, and yeosang had held her hand. nari glanced at him with surprise, but he showed no reaction, just concentrating in watching the movie. the light from the screen reflected back on his face, making him look ethereal. they didn't talk about that after the movie ended, and nari has been itching to ask him why held her hand. but she decided not to ask, since it will probably result in awkwardness.

"so," yeosang rubbed the back of his head nervously. "do you want me to walk you home?"

"sure," nari smiled, secretly wanting yeosang to hold her hand again on the way. it just felt so right to have their hands clasped together—they just both seemed to fit so rightfully together, like puzzle pieces.

as yeosang walked nari home, they talked about the movie again, and the best parts of it. as they got nearer to the house, they sort of trailed off in silence. when nari's house came to view, she tucked her hair behind her ear, and coughed.

"hey yeosang?" nari looked up at the taller boy. "thanks for taking me out to the movies tonight. it was great, and i had a really great time with you."

yeosang smiled. "it was my pleasure."

nari smiled back and walked away, feeling sort of disappointed that yeosang didn't hold her hand again. suddenly, she heard footsteps approach her, and someone holding her hand. nari turned around, and was surprised to see yeosang there, looking beetroot red.

yeosang coughed and look away. "um, n-nari, there's s-something i need to tell you."

nari looked up at yeosang, surprised and wondering why he was stuttering. "sure, yeosang, what's up?"

yeosang could feel his heartrate escalating. he looked away shyly and muttered. "w-well, i just want to say that...i like you. as in, more than friends. i-i mean, i know that this is just our first date and all and that this seems too rushed, but i couldn't help it i just like you and—ugh dang it i'm muttering nonsense again, i'm sor—"

nari cut yeosang off by tiptoeing and pecking yeosang on the lips. it shut him up immediately, his eyes widening at the suddenness of nari's actions. nari was surprised as well, before turning completely pink.

"i-i'm sorry," nari stuttered. "i like you too."

yeosang smiled, and leaned down to kiss her again, just a little longer this time. when they pulled away, they were both panting for air, their faces beetroot red. yeosang smiled shyly at nari before enveloping her in a hug.

"i love you, nari." yeosang muttered into her hair. "would you like to be my girlfriend?"

nari blushed harder at those words.

"y-yes."

yeosang smiled and ruffled nari's hair playfully, poking her pink cheeks.

"i'm glad i met you at the donut shop that day."

nari smiled and bopped yeosang's nose.

"i'm glad you love donuts, or i wouldn't have met you."
