Chapter Two - Hiding

"What the fuck are you doing here."

EVER SINCE THE NIGHT she saw Thomas peering through her window Elizabeth has kept herself hidden. Of course he found out, he always found out. He would've heard of her return then followed Ada. It was stupid really, thinking she could make a grand return and not get noticed. From the moment she stepped into Birmingham all eyes were graced upon her, this was due to the fact that as soon as a 16 year old Thomas Shelby caught sight of her he announced to his brothers and Freddie Thorne. "That is the girl I'm going to marry." Of course his brothers and best friend just laughed at him and told all their friends, his younger sister however was delighted at the sentence and thought it was the sweetest thing in the world.

In some ways, Tommys prediction was correct. The two might as well of been married the last time they were together, it got so far in fact that some people in Smallheath even began to call Elizabeth 'Mrs Shelby' to which she'd just laugh and correct them.

Truth be told Elizabeth was getting stir crazy being cooped up in this small flat. She needed a job as well as she currently living off money that Charles was giving her. The Garrison needed help and she did indeed used to work there however it was too risky as the Shelby brothers were in there everyday.

The world was on her side today however as Ada burst into Elizabeth's apartment with a smile on her face. "Jesus Christ Ada you could learn to knock." Elizabeth said to her with a small laugh, shaking her head, Ada had gone back to London after helping Elizabeth settle in so her entrance had been a major surprise.
"Well I come with good news, my brothers are going out for the day to a racetrack so we, You and me, are leaving this claustrophobic flat and going to watch a film, the new Rudolph Valentino one." Ada squeaked slightly.
Elizabeth grinned at Ada and stood up. "Really, oh I've been waiting to see it I saw it in the papers, what time are we leaving?" She asked, opening up her wardrobe and glancing around for a dress before pulling out a pale pink one.

"As soon as you are ready." The Shelby girl winked slightly as Elizabeth began to change, not to bothered about Ada seeing her. Elizabeth quickly got herself ready and the two women swiftly left the house.

Due to Ada being a Shelby the pair got into the cinema 'on the house'. On their way to the cinema people stared at them, well Elizabeth to be more specific. Since her former lover was now aware of her presence she decided there was no reason to hide.

Regret filled her instantly when another Shelby burst into the cinema midway through the film, sitting down beside Elizabeth.

"Hello Elizabeth." His rough voice spoke beside Elizabeth as she groaned.
"Hello Arthur." Elizabeth spoke back to the oldest Shelby.
"Goodbye Ada, go back to London." Arthur leaned forward and spoke to his sister making her roll her eyes and stand up.
"Goodbye Arthur, going back to London, goodbye Elizabeth." Ada scowled back as she walked out the cinema, leaving Elizabeth and Arthur to sit in silence.
