Chapter 8

I wake form my sleep by the sound of rain droplets vibrating against the window. I slowly get out of my bed, shirtless and wearing sweat pants, and grabbed a cigarette and lit it when between my lips and took a long drag. I look out my window to see the gloomy atmosphere of the outside world at the depressing look of it. I continuously take multiple drags until I'm finished and put it out in the wall next to me. I realise that there is a female figure not facing me in the distance with pure purple locks. "Who the hell is that?" I say aloud in curiosity. Bang! Thunder claps which frightens me. The figure turns around and faces me; I couldn't see her eyes but I could see the cherry red lips curl into a smirk. My heart started to beat incredibly hard and I drop to the floor in pain losing consciousness.

I feel weird. Is this a dream? I'm still in my night wear and it's bright outside I step out to investigate. "Over here!" I hear a young voice shout. I look over to three boys playing, it was the triplets. 'They are so cute'. They were chasing for bats, just enjoying life. "The bats I just caught got away." Young Kanato sniffles clinging onto teddy. "Don't cry, Kanato. We will catch them again." Laito's reassures Kanato in a reassuring voice. "Yeah, stop your snivelling! I'll catch 'em for you!" Ayato tells his younger brother in confidence running towards the bats with Laito, I chuckle at him behaviour and I follow them both.

"Ayato? Is this where you've been?" The boys stop to see the woman I saw before. Her features, now that I can see them up close, we're delicate and beautiful- too bad I'm gay. "Now come along with me." The woman demanded her lime green eyes piercing into young Ayato's emerald green ones. "Kanato, lets go." Laito and Kanato are now out of sight, leaving Ayato on his own with his mother I presume. "You're going back inside to study." She instructed with barley any emotion laced in her words. "N-No way!" Ayato stuttered looking at the ground. "All I've done is study!" He complained until his mother cut him off. "I don't want any excuses. Return to your room." She dismisses him like a bit of trash. "How come Kanato and Laito get to play while all I ever get to do is study?" He reasons which she doesn't care. "Because you're not like other children."

"No! I wanna play more!" He tells defending himself. "How many times must I tell you?!" His mother shouts "You are the successor. Do you understand what that means? Now tell me what you must do?" She orders him. His eyes are ridden with sadness which makes me pity him. "I must become number one. I must become better than anyone." He says emotionlessly looking to the ground. "And if you fail?" His mother asks aaa he simply replied with, "I am not my mother's child, so I will be sunk to the bottom of the lake?" My heart dropped. 'Oh my god. Poor boy that's terrible!'. "Exactly, good boy! You are worthless to me unless you are number one. Worthless boys must spend eternity at the cold, damp bottom of the lake, all alone, where no one can help them." She exclaims in a happy tone which I'm disgusted by "unless that's what you want, go to your room." She forced Ayato to run became to his room with no choice but to be told what to do.

"Mother!" Kanato runs towards her sitting in a bench so delicately and dangerously. "Kanato, my little song bird, sing." She demands by kanato in a slickly sweet voice; he complies. I hear barking and follow in anticipation.

I am now near a chilled dome where a butler was about. There was also a child and woman there also, the woman had her blonde hair delicately wrapped into a bun with a strand of golden locks in front of her seemed effortless and had really familiar azul ocean-like eyes. The boy had the familiar look of mauve-type locks and red beaming eyes Sheffield with glasses- it was Reiji.

He was reading a book so intently I can see he hand the really changed. I hear the barking, but it was closer I turn my head to see a boy with blonde hair walking energetically back to the chiseled dome- it was Shu. 'Oh my god sleeping beauty is so adorable when he smiles.' He had a puppy in his arms barking happily and licking Shu's face. "Shu, what are you doing there?" The woman asked with concern. "Look! A friend just gave him to me!" He pushes his arms out to show the woman. "Release that thing at once." She ordered in a cold voice. 'Damn it's just a puppy. A fucking cute one too.' Shu ignores her and is still coping over the puppy, "Shu! You are the eldest son, and therefore the next head of the family. You must learn how to conduct yourself at all times." She explains to him as the butler tries to take the puppy out of little Sleeping Beauty's arms. "What are you doing?! No! I promised Edgar I would take care of him!" He pleads. 'I wonder who's Edgar?' Shu let's go at the death stare given by his mother and his runs away far from sight. "Mother, I've finished memorising this entire book." Reiji speaks up, trying to get some recognition and praise from his mother. But she just ignores him.
