Chapter 13

The brothers were still trying to collect themselves after the altercation with Cordelia and their uncle, which lead to Akito stabbing himself in the heart. None of the brothers dared to speak. "I can't believe he'd go and stab himself. Our Boytoy is different, I'll give him that." Liato was astonished as he adjusted the fedora on his head. "He's a lot of trouble.." Shu tailed off looking at Akito laying lifelessly in Ayato's arms. "Will he disappear?" Kanato questioned, worriedly squeezing Teddy a little tighter. Subaru seemed to be in deep thought, not even bothering to say an aggressive remark. He was out of it like the rest of them.

"Subaru..." Ayato called out, snapping Subaru back into reality, "Can I pull this thing out now?" Ayato was referring to the silver knife that Subaru had gave Akito that is now in the boy's chest, with him barley clinging onto any life he had in him. Ayato places his hand on the only exposed part of the life that isn't in Akito's chest, "Wait." Subaru has now teleported closer to the two of them. "I'll do it." He hesitantly placed his hand on the holder of the knife and pulled it out delicately. The brothers looked at the knife that soaked in the boy's blood. The scent was off, and so was their feelings.

Richter was trudging in the underground part of the mansion, he was forgotten by the others while they were dealing with Akito. Blood still leaking out, he was in desperate need for one last thing. "I can't perish yet. He made it up the spiral staircase limping while holding pressure to his wound.

"His face is getting whiter." Kanato said while peering at a lifeless looking Akito on a couch, normally this would be entertaining to Kanato's creepy nature- but since he's become attached to this boy- he can barely stand this. "He could awaken at any time" Shu hypothesised while kneeling down then getting up again onto his feet. Shu hadn't slept or later down anywhere, if anything he's restless, like the rest of them. "Isn't there a way to drive the bitch out of him?" Ayato asked Shu desperately.

Meanwhile, Reiji was flipping through his books trying to find the right solution to what's the case to Akito's condition and how to cure it. Different books were scattered across the floor, Reiji was desperate to find and get Akito back.

Subaru was outside near the white rose garden, the light of the blood-ridden moon shining upon him and the flowers around him. In his hand held the very knife that he gave to Akito, which caused him to stab himself to save the brothers- still stained with his blood. Without him giving the knife to Akito, he still could have been breathing this very moment. He felt terrible.He thought it has his fault. Just to see Akito's in this state made his heart ache the most, he knew he was the one who caused this. He looked at the blade and smelt he blood that didn't smell like Akito's anymore, in anger the threw the blade. Cutting a singular rose. Like cutting into his even more wounded soul.

Richter was now in the desired room he wanted to be in. There was a blood stained dress, which was what Cordelia was wearing at her 'death'. He began to walk closer to the display of the dress and he then dropped to his knees in pain and agony. "This is it. I just need this!" He gets back up again and reaches out for the dress desperately. "Wow...So this is where you've been hiding her dress." Richter flinched ya the sound of Liato's tone of voice, he turned out quickly which hurt him a little more. "I had no idea what's so ever."

The other brothers were waiting for Reiji to come back with a solution as they watched Akito struggle in this coma-like situation, which grunting sounds of excruciating pain , even making the vampire brothers wince. "That looks really painful." Kanato commented while staring intently at Akito. Ayato began walking back to where Akito was laying and kneeled down next to him. "Hey, wake up." He called out, where just sounds struggling came out of Akito. "What's going on with him?" Subaru appeared. "The awakening has probably started." Shu stated bluntly as they all stared at him moving around in anguish. "There is no precedent for an ordinary mortal man to awaken with the power of a vampire, right?" Kanato asks Shu, he looked like the only one who knew a bit more that was going on than the rest of them. "Right, because no vessel has ever endured the process..." Shu begins, "...But it's different this time. he has that woman's heart inside him." Ayato finishes in realisation.

"This explains why you keep showing up at our house." Liato concludes, "This dress is a very dangerous object, you know. Uncle, you must have been so pleased with yourself to use her for your own means successfully. Were you planning to revolt against Karl Heinz once you had your hands on the power of the sacrificial bride? What did you hope to achieve as the new head of the family?" Liato questioned and taunted his uncle, which definitely got under his skin. "Do you seriously believe I will give up the truth to a drab like you? Liato, the truth is not as simple as you think it is." Richter defended himself.

"Is he really going to die?" Kanato asked. "Isn't there any way?" Ayato asked. "There is, but it is incomplete." Reiji appeared. "Reiji, what do you have?" Ayato questioned. "This remedy will kill that woman once and for all." He states while looking at the vile of purple liquid currently in his gloved hand. "It's unusual for you to come forward with an unfinished product. What would make it complete?" Ayato panicked. "I believe I need a piece of that woman." Reiji replies. "There's nothing left of her to use." Subaru realised frustrated, then Kanato speaks up, "Actually, I have something." He looks down towards Teddy and grabs his head and tears it off, and some of its stuffing puffs out at the opening of the neck. Kanato pulls out o dark tinted vile and hands it to his brother simply saying, "I don't need it anymore." He placed the substance into his own vile and mixes the liquid turning it into a teal blue and he smiles to himself. "Did it do the trick?" Ayato asked, hoping that it would be a 'yes' .

Drip! Drip! "I will let you in on one obvious truth. Never again will we let you or that woman, run our lives ever again." Liato nonchalantly told his uncle. Yet, still feeling confident even when he is bleeding out, he simply chucked and dismissed what Liato said with, "We have an inescapable destiny. If you didn't know that...I pity you." He fell onto his knees as he feel his body numbing from the blood lost. "I guess this is it, dear Uncle." Liato lifts up a lantern with a green flame and tossed it towards his uncle, and the green flame spear ever so quickly illuminating his face. "Goodbye. I hope you have a nice time in Hell." Is all that Liato said and left his uncle to be swallowed up by the lime flame.

All of the brothers were now back in one room. What they had all done was took a bit of the remedy into their mouth to despose of it into Akito's mouth. First was Shu, then it was Reiji, after that it was Ayato, soon it was Kanato, following that was Liato, then finally was Subaru. After all of the concoction was in his system they all waited for him to wake up. A couple of seconds later his auburn eyes opened, "ugh, guys?" He looked around to see all of them smiling at him with relief and content. He raises his hand to see it is still gloved, "I'm alive. What am I doing here? And what am I doing in this dress still?!" That all chuckled, "You don't need to know that." Ayato says. Akito sits up and ruffles his hair and says "I so need a smoke."
