Ch. 2

~ |Old Friends, New beginnings| ~

You held your phone in front of you staring at the message from the 'Unknown' number has sent.

Mae.

A very old friend you haven't been in contact with in years. It's been a hot minute since she's ever crossed your mind. Why all of a sudden she would text you?

Taehyung had noticed your frozen self doing nothing but still staring down at your phone completely distraught.

"(Y/N)?" He spoke as he walks up to you. "What's wrong, you looked like you just saw a ghost."

You gave him a look with beady eyes as you slowly shook your head. "I-It's nothing to worry about Taehyung, really." You lowered your hand with your phone now turned off.

He gave you a knowing look with eyebrows arched. "Come on, we both know that's not true because-"

"-You already know me..." you rolled your eyes as you finished his statement. "Mae texted me.." you spoke in a quiet voice.

Taehyung's eyes widen making his thick arched eyebrows raise. "Did you just say 'Mae?' When was the last time we ever spoke to her?"

"Exactly! I don't know where this came from." You took off your apron and threw it on the counter.

"Well then see what she wants. There has to be some kind of reason she texted you." Taehyung insisted.

You sighed and looked at the message once more. "Well what choice do I have anyways?" You looked up at him with a shrug.

Taehyung pat your shoulders. "Don't worry, nothing bad will happen because I will always be right by your side." He smiled reassuringly.

You returned a small one to him. "I know you will."

A sudden 'Ding' came from your phone making you and Taehyung bring both of your attention to it.

"Another message?" He asked.

Unknown:
Just wanted to let you know I'm stopping by with the others in a little!! xoxo

You read the message repeatedly out loud making it very coherent. "She's..coming over..." you paused and looked at Taehyung.

"With...'the others'..." he answered back slowly.

"Does she mean.." your eyes grew from realization. "Wait!!-"

The doorbell rang making you and Taehyung freeze in place.

"Don't tell me.." he began, mentally facepalming.

"Shit!" You muttered under your breath as you slipped your phone in your pocket and scurried over to the front door.

"Shit, shit, shit!!"

You swung the door open after unlocking it and there, you saw five heads staring at you, on your doorstep.

A girl looking like to be in her early twenties gasped loudly before squealing. "(Y/N)!!" She rushed to you with open arms now wrapped around you.

"M-Mae?!" You was left there shook, and finally noticing the other four men standing behind Mae, almost made you pass out.

"Oh my god!! Look at how much you kids grew!" Jin slung his arms around yours and Taehyung's necks, as his big shoulders supported your head.

"Yeah, you guys looked like you aged a bit too!" You admitted while laughing.

"I'll have you know that people still compliment on how I look like an eighteen year old with a thirty year old body." One of them peeked over.

And you most definitely know that sarcasm anywhere.

You spun your head. "Jungkook!!" A bright smile beamed on your face as you threw your arms around him.

"Glad you didn't forget about me.." he chuckled as his eyes squinted adorably cute.

"Where's Jimin?" You asked excitedly, turning to Mae.

She cleared her throat quickly and licked her lips. "He...decided not to come. It's only Jungkook and I, along with Jin, Hoseok, and Namjoon." She nodded to the other two.

You gasped slightly as you saw Namjoon and Hoseok with bright smiles plastered on their faces.

"Wow, look at how much you've grown (Y/N)!" Hoseok beamed, giving you a warm hug.

"Nice to see you again, Hoseok!" You laughed.

You turned to Namjoon and gave him a hug as well.

"A pleasure to see you again, (Y/N)." He spoke quietly with a shy smile.

You nodded your head quickly with a small smile. "Likewise.."

Taehyung finally walked to your side.

"Oh, right..you guys know Taehyung, it's been a while since we all spoke so.." you laughed nervously.

"Hey everyone.." He smiled, giving them a small wave.

Each and every one of them kindly did the same in return.

"It's really been a hot minute, huh?" Jungkook said, in shock.

"Yeah, how did you guys managed to know where we live?" You brought your attention to Mae, tilting your head.

"Well, we did get the info through Mae." Jin confessed, turning to her as well.

"That's cause I've always had your number? Duh!" She laughed. "And before you was moving on with your life, we all had a small get together, which was a while ago...and you told me where you was moving." Mae smiled softly as she nodded towards Taehyung.

You don't recall any of that happening, but you managed to follow along.

"Thought you could get away from us that easily?" Jungkook ruffled your hair as he put you in a head lock playfully.

You giggled as his action, both of you receiving looks from Taehyung. "And your annoying ass self haven't changed at all." you commented.

"You know..." Jin spoke momentarily, sniffing the air. "It smells like a lemon cake is being baked right now.."

Taehyung gasped now remembering. "Well, (Y/N) and I was making dessert until you guys-"

"Dessert?!" Jungkook exclaimed, releasing you in an instant.

"Why didn't you guys just mention you were making something for us? We could've waited." Hoseok chucked in.

Everyone made their way to the kitchen happily leaving you and Taehyung alone, as Jungkook was the first one to bolt right in there.

The both of you exchanged glances, knowing damn well it's going to be one hell of a night.
