"Come on now girls. Get all your stuff up to your new room." Grandma Tina said as she helped us move the very few boxes of stuff we had.
I was lost. I had to move all the way to Tridalle, some city that's like a thousand miles away from home. Everything happened so fast. First, I'm living with Mommy and Daddy and now both of them are gone and me and Nicky have to stay with our grandmother, that we haven't seen since we were little babies. So, technically, I don't know this lady, yet we're expected to live with her.
I carried my box of clothes up to my room, with Nicky behind me. As I opened the door, I saw a big, brolic man looking out the window. Once he noticed that me and Nicky were standing at the doorway he turned around.
"Hey, little ones. I'm Jon-Jon. I'm Grandma Tina's boyfriend. Let me help ya'll out." He said as he grabbed me and Nicky's boxes out of our hands and placed them on the long dresser across from our beds. "Ya could decorate ya room however you like. Welcome to your new home." he said with a small smile, then left out our room.
"This room bigger than our old room. We ain't even got to sleep in the same bed no more." Nicky said as she looked all around. "You think Grandma's rich with this big ole house?" she kept blabbing on.
I wasn't really interested in what she had to say.
"Brianna? Briannaaa? Why you not talking?" she said, trying to catch my attention.
I didn't really want to talk. I just wanted to unpack and get on with my life.
