Chapter twelve

Jungkook pov.
"Anneonghaseo, sir. How may I help you?" A girl with blonde dyed hair and a polite smile asked as I walked in. "Well yeah sure. I could use some help. So, um I'm the new secretary for the CEO." I said as I returned her smile and bowed to her. "New secretary? May I know your name?" She asked as she walked over to the recipient counter and stood behind it with the same smile plastered to her face. Honestly I want to puke now. People have been smiling so much at me that now it's just indigestible.

"Jeon jungkook." I said coldly as I waited for her to answer. Maybe my behavior was a little too unwelcoming because I noticed her smile dropped immediately and She started feeling uncomfortable. Now I felt guilty. "I'm s-sorry. Just had a bad day." I said as I avoided her gaze because I was embarrassed but she didn't seem to notice it. She just nodded lightly and gave me a assuring smile as she continued her work.

She turned her gaze towards her laptop which was placed in front of her and started typing something on it. I just stood there though. Staring at her and waiting like a statue as she kept typing until I noticed her weird reaction. Everything was normal but suddenly her expression changed. She looked horrified. And when I say horrified, I mean freaked out as hell. She looked like she was frozen. Her hands weren't moving and her eyes were wide as she stared at the screen with what I think was disbelief. But she came back to her senses and started typing again but this time more aggressively with a very scared expression.

"Is everything alright?" I asked curiously raising my eyebrows and she just laughed nervously hiding the fact that she was scared.

"We uh, have to talk." She said as she looked at me with concern in her eyes.

"Uh okay." I replied quite unsure because well I didn't really know her but denying was not in the option either. Whatever she was gonna say sounded important and so, I agreed.

She walked over to me and grabbed my wrist as she started walking fast dragging me along. It was all weird but I didn't stop her. I knew she meant business so stopping her might harm me. So, we walked for atleast ten minutes before we reached her destination. It was a random room located in the middle of the hall with a small board hanging on it which read "room 901". She opened the door cautiously and peeked inside without letting go of my wrist as I stood behind her waiting patiently. She turned and looked behind me to make sure no one followed us maybe and then dragged me inside the room. When we both were safely inside the room she locked the door immediately.

"Uh miss? What do you think you're doing?" I asked a little horrified by her actions finally breaking the awkward silence.

"Look. I'm not doing anything wrong to you, don't worry. Just sit and listen." She said as she sat down on the couch which was placed in the corner of the room and patted the empty seat next to her for me to sit.

At first I was hesitant but I gave in and sat next to her. "So?" I asked as I looked at her for her to answer and she avoided my gaze.

"Listen thoroughly. I won't repeat." She said as she focused back on me and I just nodded lightly gulping. Her tone clearly implied whatever she was going to say is most likely not going to be pleasant. As a matter of fact it seemed like it would be something terrifying for me. And me being my dumb self, I didn't move, just sat there waiting for her to spill the tea.

"VJM INDUSTRIES is controlled by two people. CEO V and CEO JM. Both have equal parts and shares of the company. Both are extremely strict but CEO V just happens to be a little more strict than CEO JM. You should know, when I say strict, I mean you will dread your decision to ever work under them if you ever fall on their bad side. They have no heart is what people say. I would say CEO JM is still somewhat a bearable person for all his employees because he is like a little bit nicer. But CEO V is a nightmare at times because you never see him coming at first but it gets terrifying if he actually loses his temper. And unfortunately for you, you are his new secretary. Be careful. You can't say anything you find out about this company to anyone other than me. And now that you've joined us you can't resign or leave." She said all of it whispering at once with fear and concern reflecting pretty clearly in her eyes and I just sat there with my mouth wide open.

"Don't be scared. If anything ever happens, come to me. And for goodness sake don't do mistakes because you don't get fired from jobs here. You get worst punishments." She said trying to comfort me but honestly non of it was comforting but I nodded anyway. My mouth was totally dry and I was extremely scared. I mean literally out of all the places on earth, I had to end up here.

"I'm Sunmi by the way." She said smiling happily snapping me out of my trance as I nodded. I was pretty sure she knew my name already so I didn't think it will be necessary to introduce myself. And on top of that I was so much shocked that my brain basically was not functioning properly. She stood up and I stood up too mimicking her actions subconsciously but she didn't seem to notice that.

"You should go meet CEO V. He doesn't like it when people get late. And remember to knock thrice." She said as she dragged me out the room by my wrist and again, I just nodded.
