After school we met up with Rowoon on the rooftop.
I started sweating from nervousness, and awkwardness.
"Why are you being like this?" - he said
"Like what?"
"Ignoring me. I thought telling you would make you feel better, but actually it made you worse."
"Then, what are you expecting me to do? Be happy? After all of that?"
"No, of course not, especially not now. But, in future. Now, I want you to get to know me. I want to get closer to you"
"And why should I?"
"Chani, please give me a chance."
"Why?"
"Because I have feelings for you" - he said dead serious - "I liked you since we were kids" - slipped out of his mouth
Since we were kids? But I never met him before, I didn't even know that he existed. The problem wasn't him liking me, at the end it's not like I'm straight, but what he said was the problem.
"What? Since we were kids? But we never met?"
He seemed worried about what he said and started sweating.
"W-well, you didn't k-know me, but I d-did.."
I didn't know him but he knew me? What the hell.
"Are you hiding something from me?"
"O-of course not! I told you everything" - he said while stuttering
"You don't seem that way though"
"Believe me, i told you everything"
"Then what's this about? How did you know me?"
"Everyday I would you watch you and Seokwoo playing outside from the window, you seemed pure and innocent, I wanted to meet you so badly. But I couldn't and that hurt me a lot. Now I want to take this chance, to get you to know who am I" - he said but I still wasn't sure if he was saying the truth
"I'll think about it it."
"About dating me?"
"No! About getting to know you for god's sake!" - I said with an irritated voice - "Now, excuse me, I have to go" - I didn't even wait for his response, I just left.
At the school gate, Youngkyun was waiting for me.
"Were you waiting for me?" - I asked him
"Mhm, I did. I couldn't leave my best friend alone, so here am i. You're glad to have a friend like me, right?"
"Whatever" - I said, but i didn't mean that, I will always be glad for Youngkyun being my friend, honestly I'm glad he exists
"So, why did you talk with Rowoon?" - he asked me with curiosity
"Hyung.. He c-confessed to me"
"He did what? He confessed? Really?"
"Yes, really. He said he liked me since kids, but I never met him and I'm still not sure how he knows me. He said that he would watch me and Seokwoo playing from the window, and that's how he knows me, but I didn't trust him much. He said that he wanted to get closer with me"
"That's really weird of him, and suspicious"
"Right? I was so surprised!"
"So, did you say anything to him?"
"I said I'll think about getting closer to him, but I didn't say anything about the confession."
"What is there to think? Obviously you're going to reject him. Or you're thinking something else?
"I don't know Youngkyun. I'm not even sure if he's saying the truth"
"Do whatever you think is the best for you, but please don't get hurt, please"
"Hyung, you're worrying to much"
"How can i not? I care about you!"
"I know I know. Let's go home"
"Oh I forgot to tell you, I'm coming to your house"
"Oh really? Let's go then."
The journey to home wasn't long. My mother brightly greeted Youngkyun and started making some food for us.
"I haven't been here since so long"- he said as he went in my room
"Hyung, you were here some time ago"
"Exactly! That's too long" - he said with a pout and I had to laugh a little - "We're best friends, I need to go to your house more"
"Seriously, hyung, you're like a child..."
"Haha right? It's my character, and also my charm" - he said while laughing
"Yes yes, very funny" - I said sarcastically
"So, what are we going to do?"
"First we'll wait for my mom to cook the food and then we'll see what to do"
"Okay! Your mom is a very good cook! I wish my mom cooked that well"
"Don't say that for your mom, you fool"
"Okay, don't scold me. Please!" - he said "cutely"
"Do that again, I'll choke you"
"Ouch! That hurt"
"I don't care!"
"Kids! The food is ready! Come down." - my mom yelled from downstairs
"Okay!" - me and Youngkyun said together
After we ate, we watched some movies and played games.
"Chani, I have to go now. I've been here since 2pm and now it's 7pm" - Youngkyun said
"You can stay longer if you want hyung"
"No, I need to go" - he picked up his things and got out of my room
Outside wasn't cold like I expected. It was unexpectedly warm.
"Do you need me to walk you home?" - I asked Youngkyun
"I'm not a kid Chani, I can go home myself!"
"Okay then hyung, be safe!"
"Bye!!' - he said and left
I wanted to go home when I saw a shadow at Seokwoo's house.
