"So, let me get this straight. HQ wants us to expand our line outside of the Solar System?"

"Correct. Preferably.. past the Milky Way, now with functional warp cores—"

Franklin sighed, rubbing his temples to clearly show his stance on the matter at hand. As an Admiral, he knew better than to stretch their defenses for a major operation that craves a grand fleet.

Masayuki observed what the other officers had to say or at least give their own expression to this, the Russian Captain; Andrei being silent but his facial feature spoke for himself, that creating a thin line would severely affect their efficiency.

Captain Kira looked distressed at this new update back from Earth, the decision would leave his ship in danger with the lack of escort or any nearby vessel for immediate support.

"Permission to speak, Fleet Admiral." the screen widened to another officer on the line, eager to speak his mind in this event that he would not get anytime soon.

Franklin stared at the man, his eyes sharply quizzing the officer who seemed to be of Asian origins and with an accent not all too comfortable to the English language. Masayuki however, outright asked for an identification and the Asian officer cleared his throat before proceeding.

"Andy, Captain of the Surabaya, sir."

Ah.. the Surabaya. Masayuki thought, a small smile now written on his feature.

"Yes, speak freely.. Captain. What do you have in mind?"

The Indonesian Captain nodded in appreciation first, all eyes now glued to him in anticipation. After all, his ship distinguished herself in valor by charging towards the Garmillas and taking out 19 ships without taking any casualties in return.

"I think we've done well in repelling the Garmillas out from this Solar System, but there's no guarantee if they are gone for good. We should take the initiative."

"We're lacking the numbers, Captain. How should we trust that this would work? Even if it's a direct order from HQ." the American Admiral interjected, worried that they won't have the time to travel back and defend Earth if an insurgency were to occur.

"Through history, sir. We Indonesians fought our way to independence by constantly pressuring the Dutch. That's how you've also pushed back the Japanese during World War Two, is it not? We need to press on the Garmillas Empire's joints.. until we find a weakness."

The video conference fell flat in silence, the officers thought hard about it and few were conflicted between continuing the assault or take defensive measures.

"Captain Andy is right. We won't get anywhere if we stay back and wait for the Garmillas to make their move. Which is why HQ has already sent a fleet out of the Solar System to explore and help us to decide what to do from here."

Captain Kira looked at his fellow Japanese superior when revealed that the Cosmo Navy High Command had already made their decision, he opened his mouth to speak but Andrei had beaten him to it.

"And.. who did they send, Fleet Admiral?"

"Rear-Admiral Fisk, British Expeditionary Fleet 16."

Beyond the Solar System

The fleet under the Rear-Admiral comprised of 10 starships; a dreadnought, a fleet carrier, three heavy cruisers, two destroyers and three corvettes. UNCN Warspite, as the flagship and on her very first maiden voyage to space. Unlike the many warships that formed the backbone of the Cosmo Navy, ships under the British Admiralty served only under safe circumstances like patrolling and sending exploration teams. But that doesn't make them harmless, they are far from that, in fact the starship heavy cruisers they have may compare to a battleship in terms of firepower. That's as far as they can deliver any damages, without much protection they are vulnerable to the Garmillas beam weaponry.
