Holding My Last Breath

Could my night get any worse. I was knocked out again, feeling no pain...am I painless or just bulletproof.

"I know who you are" I said. ....."Ray".

"Your not going anywhere this time, your staying here and there's nothing you can do" he said.

"No matter how many times you take me away, I'll always find my family, please your my family too, okay I know what my mom did to Madeline but please let me go and I know I can help you" I pleaded.

"Shut your mouth Bethany, I don't need your help! and your mother is a spoiled bitch like you!" he said while he hit me. "Please" I yelled while he walked upstairs and locked the door. I was crying for a few minutes then I heard talking upstairs.

"I can't take it anymore I'm gonna shoot her" Ray said. "No just let her go, no sense to hurt her anymore" Madeline said. "I'm done" he said. "Ray no!" After that they were fighting and yelling....and then *shot* I heard the gun go off.....Madeline was dead. I cried in chains on my ankles. I remember crying till my throat was hurting. I knew no matter how bad it was I had to get myself out of these chains. I was thinking to myself what was going on with my dad...did he go home? Is he finding me?

I thought of only one thing that can make them come find me...was to die for a few minutes, Yes it was dangerous but I had to try. I held my breath for two minutes, I fainted and I remember standing over my body... I was a ghost. While my body was still there I went to Jake, I started at his house.

"Jake!" I yelled while going through the doors. "Bethany what are yo.....Bethany..." Jake said. "Jake it's okay" I said. "no this is a dream!" "No please no!" he cried. "Jake please I'm okay but you have to help me! my aunt got me again Ray grabbed me from my house when I came home...I'm in the basement of his house he has a gun and shot Madeline but he's gonna kill me if I don't get help!" I begged. "What do I do Bethany!" he cried. "Go get my dad and hurry please!.....I can't stay like this forever!" I said. "I'm going I'll be there soon....but wait!.....are you dead!?"he desperately asked. "No...." "now go Bethany go!" He said.

After that I went back to the house...but my body wasn't there. "Oh no!" I said. I went upstairs but Ray wasn't there....and so was the gun. Ray lives in the back of the woods so I checked there and then...I saw Ray about to bury my body so I quickly jumped into my body.

*breathed deeply* "Bethany what!" he said. "I'm alive" I said to myself out loud" You stupid bitch what's the matter with you" he said while he pointed his gun at me" "please don't"

"Let go of her!" Jake yelled.

"Who the hell are you?" Ray asked with a gun pointing to my neck while he grabbed me.

"I'm Bethany's boyfriend....please don't hurt her.."

"Ahh love I remember love once, until it spits right back at you!" Ray laughed.

"Just please...let her go" Jake said. "I'm going to kill her, and I'm going to kill you too" Ray said. All of a sudden my dad came. "Bethany!" my dad yelled. "Dad!" I yelled back and then. *shot* I was dead, and this time I wasn't coming back. I just new in my heart that my family or Jake couldn't live without me. I saw the police arrest Ray and the ambulance took my body. My dad and Jake we're crying. Jake could see me but dad couldn't. I disappeared for a while. But I was watching my family the whole time. Waiting for the exact right moment.....to tell my family that I'm still here.
