After Izuku had grabbed his lunch, who relocated to the roof, where he and Kirishima had decided they were going to meet. He climbed the stairs at a moderate pace, pushing open the door at the top. He smiled a little at the soft breeze that blew against him as he did.
It didn't take him long to locate Kirishima's spot. The red-haired teen was sitting at a bench with Bakugou, and as soon as he saw Izuku, he waved him over. Izuku quickened his stride just a little and approached.
"Hi, Kirishima. Um, hi, Kacchan."
"Hi, Midoriya!" Kirishima responded.
Bakugou didn't greet him. He simply glared, embers of annoyance sparking to life in his crimson eyes. He opened his mouth, Izuku already expecting a curse, or a snarled insult. However, he saw Bakugou's gaze dart over to the red-haired boy next to him, and then something changed in his eyes.
"Shitty hair, what's this shit nerd doing here, huh?"
Kirishima rolled his eyes. "Don't be rude! He's here because一Izuku, go ahead and sit一we need to plan out when we'll work on our project together."
"Ha, Half 'n Half and I already planned."
"So you can get along with other people!"
Izuku swallowed some laughter at Kirishima's comment.
"Shut the hell up! It's only because we want a good grade, shitty hair."
"Well, Izuku and I want a good grade, too, so we should start planning. You can help us if you want...?" Bakugou returned to glaring at Izuku. "You think I'd ever want to help useless Deku with anything?
Kirishima sighed. "Worth a try," he said, smiling brightly at the blonde. Izuku, observing the exchange while also pulling some notes out of his bag, thought he saw pink lightly dusted across Bakugou's cheeks when the blonde looked back at Kirishima. Of course, it could just be his imagination. He blinks, and the possible blush was gone.
Kirishima turned his attention to Izuku, clapping his hands together. "Okay, so... we can do some work now, right? And I have time after school. You could come to my dorm at 5:00 if you're free."
Izuku nodded, wondering if he had anything to do at 5:00. He was about to reply that he was free then, and they could probably一
"Track practice today," Bakugou interjected gruffly. Izuku's eyes widened, he'd totally forgotten! At his old high school, he only did track every other day because he had other things to do after school.
"Thanks for reminding me, Kacchan," Izuku said, risking a small smile at Bakugou, who scoffed at him. "Lousy Deku. You can't even remember when we have practice." Izuku laughed, a little nervously, before starting to think about the best times for him and Kirishima to work. That's why he didn't see the look Kirishima was giving Bakugou over the blond's last sentence. Eyebrow raised, curiosity rising in his gaze. The red-haired teen had heard something in the tone that Izuku couldn't and it was confusing the hell out of him. Then he shrugged and decided that it was best left to a different time.
"So, track ends at 6:00, right? Dinner starts at 6:30..." Kirishima trailed off, and Izuku picked back up.
"So we could work at 7:00? We can eat in 30 minutes, right?"
Kirishima nodded. "That's settled then. Let's start! What do you think would be something good to help prevent tsunami damage?"
"Maybe a wall?" Izuku suggested. Kirishima nodded along, but before he could even open his mouth to give his opinion, Bakugou interrupted again.
"Did you two idiots even think about how much it would cost to put a 100-foot tall wall on the entire shore of a goddamn town?"
Izuku blinked, then smiled very timidly, compared to the easygoing but sheepish smile that was Kirishima's. Bakugou groaned in exasperation.
