Lamentations 2:17
"The Lord has done what He purposed; He has fulfilled His word which He commanded in days of old. He has thrown down and not pitied, and He caused an enemy to rejoice over you; He has exalted the horn of your adversaries."
(You may ask yourself, 'Why would God do this? This seems awful... God isn't awful. He's kind and warm and fatherly.' Yes, while He is all that, He is also a God of wrath and jealousy. This is when His people have been sinning against Him for hundreds of years. God was very patient with them for a very long time. However, it wasn't that His patience ran out, but that His peoeple needed punishment and judgement for their terrible actions against Him. Jeremiah is lamenting over this judgement, but he knows that the people deserve it. But God is always willing to forgive, if you are willing to repent.)
