what's this sudden calm?

hello new city,
i'm still trying to get a gist
why is everyone so strange?
i'm clutching on to my wrist
i broke myself into two
before finally parting ways
one half goes with me
while the other part stays
didn't take my heart with me
left it with the people i trust
why would i need it anyway?
don't want it to ruin or rust
but now i realize maybe,
maybe i misplaced my feelings
nothing's making sense lately
i stare all day at high ceilings
between these two cities
i lost my mind
don't know where to go
(can i just hit rewind?)
