It took a while for my senses to come back to me. My head was spinning and by the looks of it, the room was quite literally blown to pieces. There were splinters scattered all around the room, people walking aimlessly in their wedding attire.

This was supposed to be our wedding.

My stomach couldn't sink any further when I saw him.

Sherlock. From what I could see, he wasn't responding and there was a full team of medics around him, scrambling around frantically. Before I could think, I rushed over to the ambulance outside.

"No, please. Let me see him..." A paramedic pushed me back gently. "He's my.... Husband."

They were blocking my view of him, dragging me away from him. The last time I did this...

I can't be reminded.

"He's my best friend..." I mutter, loud enough for the young nurse to look at me, compassion showing on her face.

"John!" A familiar voice called behind me. It was the man that started everything between Sherlock and I. Mike Stamford was standing in front of me, unharmed, thank goodness.

"You alright?" He asks, looking behind me.

"No, Sherlock isn't," I say with a sigh, and he presses his lips together firmly.

"But I would like to thank you, Mike. For bringing us together, none of this wouldn't have happened if you didn't bring me to him." He nods, stepping forward and putting a hand on my shoulder.

"I knew from the start that you guys were into each other." He chuckles, and I can't help but smile.

"Look, John. He's going to be fine, I'm telling you now... I best be on my way. Good luck." I give him a small wave, my smile fading as quickly as it appeared.

The events of two years ago wouldn't get off my mind. It was all so similar... It had to be.
