"I need to talk to you..... in private" Steve told me.

"What about? Why are you here?" I roamed my eyes to check if there's another company of him.

Why would Steve wants to talk to me? And why is he here anyway?

"There's no one around, I came alone. Come on, there's no time"

I walked after him trying to equal his long strides. We stopped in a garden restobar, he finally able to find a corner where we could come up with his purpose of visit. It might be very important because it is rushed.

Upon ordering some drinks, he took a long swig and turned his face to me.

"Is there something I......" he cut me off.

"Bucky" he quickly added. I gaped from what he had said. I knew it. He will look for Bucky.

It's very impossible for Steve not to look after his friend, his best friend. Although there were misunderstandings from what Bucky did, I know after Bucky remembers everything, he will be looking for Steve as well. But he needs more time.

"Steve" I muttered. I tried very hard not to tell him about Bucky, but I know the very least of telling him a lie will never help me. Worry grew inside me. If I hold back, it would be still that Steve will look for Bucky.

"Someone told me that you are with Bucky. How come is that possible?" he leaned closer. "Hayley, let's be fair to each other. Don't lie"

I bite my tongue forcing the pain to hold back. I looked at him and shook my head gathering the courage to tell him the truth.

"Yes...... that's true. We've been together for a couple of months now, and I've been helping him remember his past. He remembers you, Steve" the hopeful voice, it didn't falter his face as he kept it seriously.

"You know he can't stay here any longer, Hayley. He is still the Winter Soldier. He could hurt you too. He will be safe in our hands, trust me" I looked away.

He will never hurt me.

He promised.

"You know what? He will never be safe in your hands. Regardless those days that you've been together, fighting, and ended up still suffering. Steve, he's at peace. Let him live his life. Just go" a tear escaped from my eye. The pain, anger, and guilt overpowered me.

"Please, understand that this is a mission. Under any circumstances, I have to get him back. I need him to be safer than here. What if Hydra finds him again? Who would protect him? Who would protect you?"

I nearly laughed from his statement.

"That...... that stupid Hydra was the reason why he is going through these fucking things, he still has those nightmares. You could've protected him from the very start, he told me that you promised. You promised, Steve", he looked away and pain coarsed his face.

"I know you've done your part, you told me he remembers. But that is not enough. When S.H.I.E.L.D turned down from being a private organization, our missions should come only by the citizens and not with our private issues anymore. But it took me the opportunity to find Bucky, with my own team, we will help him recover. Tony will never know about this, I'm sure he won't agree with me"

I'm not very popular with what he said but I'm sure, Steve takes this as his own mission.

"Please, Hayley. Let's make this a deal"

I looked at him, puzzling his expression. He really wants Bucky safe, but I don't want to let him go. Not just yet.

"I can't trust you enough, Steve. I'm sorry. But........"

"I know. I don't trust myself too. But I hate myself more if Bucky will be in danger again. He is my bestfriend. I'm with him 'til the end of the line"

I nodded and wiped my tears away. There should be another way for Bucky, but Steve knew him more than I do.

Let him stay for a while. Just a day.

"I'll tell you where he lives"
