Chapter 15

Surprised -to say the least- YanRan collapses. She grabs everything in her proximity to prevent her from falling down completely. She does so, including some furniture and you. Because all of this is so unexpected, you lose your balance and fall down as well. Embarrassed, you do your best to stand up. YanRan, however, does not move and keeps put. When the young man shows intend to help both of you, YanRan and you stumble down again.

'YanRan', you whisper viciously, 'let's get back on our feet right now. This is making me feel very uncomfortable.' To your disappointment, she does not react at all. You're flabbergasted since it's the first time you've seen a person overexaggerate to this extent. Or does this happen when someone is in a real shock? Worried, you pull her up and force her to sit on a chair. You still get no reaction.

'Would you mind?', a soft voice says. You get pulled aside and the man positions himself in front of YanRan. He starts talking to her and makes some unconventional movements. He checks her eyes, opens her mouth and even makes sure her knee reflex is present. Quite impressive... Nonetheless, quite useless. As you've received proper medical training, you know that this is not the proper way to check a human's vital function.

You realize it's a good thing you're stuck here. Failing to provide adequate first aid... If you're boss would've seen your inappropriate reaction, she would fire you immediately. Not that it's important now, you think by yourself. You already got fired – at least you assume. Besides, no living creature in this environment seem to know how to get back to Dongbei. If you weren't sacked some yesterday, then not showing up would have sealed the deal. There's no way you can ever work at that hospital again.

You pout, saddened by your thoughts. You don't look forward at being jobless. You pout once more. The Emperor's younger brother notices and gives you a confused look. Because his eyes look at you, your cheeks redden. Shyly, you avert your eyes. Then, you stand up and attempt to coldly head towards the exit. You do this so he doesn't come closer or ask any unnecessary questions. Obviously, this is one of your I've-seen-it-in-a-drama moves. In reality, however, this doesn't work. Without a doubt, TangTang lets go of YanRan and stands up as well.

Within an instant, he grabs your hand and makes you turn around. Now, you're facing him. 'Why are you leaving?', he says in an angry tone, 'Were you trying to leave YanRan behind?' You make sure to object, but only to make you not seem like an untrusty person. 'No, of course not. I was aiming to go to Lord Chen's manor. For YanRan's sake, isn't it best to have her personal physician examine her?', you state.

Touché. The man seems at a loss of words. With a sense of victory, you walk away. Showing him some sass, you decide to leave an impression of what you're capable off. You attempt to open the door, but since you're giving TangTang a not so friendly look you don't look forward and trip at the door opening. You fall down. Again. Once more, your hectic day ends up even worse.

While you were showing off, some Emperial guards opened the door and started to enter. When the first one entered, you collided. Not only did you bump your heads, but both of you fell down. This created a domino effect: the other guards were standing closely behind the captain and got knocked over as well. Unexpectedly, they shout for help. The noise they make helps you come to your senses rather fast.

You need to escape this place before you get caught and, eventually, executed. Quickly, you come up with a wild plan. This time it's not a euphemism - you don't use that in your speech or thinking. Wild doesn't mean unprecedented tough. The first thing you can think of is what every drama protagonist would do.
