5 years later...
Khyra was with her five year old son Chaska and his twelve year old friend Cole picking fruit off a tree at the lake. Khyra told the boys to stay close and that they were leaving to go back. Khyra turned her back on the boys for a second to bend down to pick up the fruit that fell from her hand.
She collected herself and turned her head to check on the boys, but they weren't there. Khyra's eyes widened and she searched skeptically for the boys where she last saw them. They were no where to be found. The remains of the fruit that they had in their hands were floating in the water, but the boys were no where in sight.
Khyra dropped the fruits from her hands and screamed.
"My baby!", She cried.
She ran frantically to the tribe grounds and cried hysterically.
Kajibwe was laughing at the joke that his friend told when he saw his wife crying and running towards him. He knew something was terribly wrong, for Khyra was always full of joy and smiling. Khyra went up to Kajibwe and grabbed onto his shirt while hugging him.
"I can't find them-him. T-t-they're gone!", She sobbed.
"Who's gone, my love?", Kajibwe asked while wrapping his arms around her petite figure.
"C-Chaska and Cole!", She choked.
