"Khyra it's okay... It was only a dream.", Kajibwe says soothingly into Khyra's ear. While Khyra's sobs fill the room, she is in the comforting embrace of Kajibwe.
"I can't sleep. Everytime I close my eyes I see them.", Khyra says.
Her cries slowly come to a stop and the room falls into an unpleasant silence.
"I'm going to go for a walk", Khyra says breaking the silence.
"I don't think you should go for a walk in your state of mind, Khyra.", Kajibwe mutters.
She hears his words, but does not go further with them. Instead, she forces Kajibwe's arms to release her.
"I'm going to walk, whether you like it or not", she retorts back.
Kajibwe takes a deep breath forming a big sigh, knowing he can't do anything about her decision.
After stomping her way out of the room and out the tents door, Khyra strolls down the pasture into the abut forest. She walks slowly letting her mind wonder places she would've never imagine they'd wonder to.
"What if they are dead because of me", she thought.
"Did they runaway? Maybe I was not good enough for him."
She lets her feet take over her route and she finds herself in front of the lake. She moves slowly to the shore and let's the soothing touch of the water on her feet calm her. She smiles at the memories that fill her mind, of when Chaska and her spent hours at the lake playing in the water. And the memories of Cole when he was an infant just learning how to walk on his own.
"Oh, how time just flies by.", Khyra whispers to herself.
Khyra's smile fades when she remembers the incident.
"It was only a second I let them out of my sight." Khrya says while frowning,
"I can't give up on them. Chaska would be disappointed in me."
Khrya shifts her body back to the forest. She begins to proceed to the path leading to the tents. Until, she sees something quickly sliver across the trail in front of her feet. Khyra stops in her tracks, tensing up, startled from the creature. Curious of what creature she encountered, she lifts her hand stopping the gravity in her radius. All the substances that were once on the ground now in the air. She turns her head in the direction the animal retreated to.
Khyra spots the creature immediately and it surprises her. She takes her other hand and drops the unnecessary particles back on the ground. Still keeping the Cobra held in mid-air, she moves her hand to let the Cobra proceed towards her. Khyra stares at the cobra. She hadn't seen a cobra in this part of the forest before nor has she seen one in years. Khyra felt an odd feeling about this cobra.
"Why do you look so familiar?", She questioned the Cobra like it could answer.
Not thinking much of the snake anymore, Khyra releases it from her grasp. She watches the snake plop on the dirt, turn around, and sliver away.
After, Khyra returns back to walking the trail. She finally arrives at the pasture where the tribe is and walks to the head families tent. Kajibwe is waiting patiently in the room when he hears Khyra enter the tent. He stands up-right to welcome her back. He moves towards his wife and hugs her. Kissing her forehead and her raven black hair multiple times.
"I missed you...", Kajibwe says worriedly.
"I missed you too", Khyra responds.
"How was your walk?", He asks.
"Fine.... I also made up my mind about something", Khyra says.
"And what is that?", Kajibwe questions with interest.
"I'm going to find the boys.", She says confidently.
"Wha... What makes you so sure you're going to find them, my love?", He asks cautiously.
"I just know I will", Khyra says without hesitation.
