The Mans' P.O.V.
I passed over to Hell quickly, I soared over the ever-burning fire and made my way to the stone building my brother Jasper and I shared. Regan felt the change in speed and clutched tighter to my shirt, I smiled to myself. Humans are so connected to their instinctual survival, it's a little amusing at the fear for things Regan shows.
"W-Where are we?" Regan asked, she tried to see but I stopped her. I held her head to my chest to stop her from seeing the evil souls burning in the pits of Hell, the very sight could haunt her dreams for many fortnights. But even then, the sound of the screams will be there.
"Where are we?" Regan asked. "Please, tell me."
"You are almost safe." I said.
"Why won't you tell me where you're taking me?" Regan demanded, trying to break my hold on her. "Why wasn't I safe?"
"I'll explain soon."
I found the balcony and slowed down, stopping mid-air and slowly landing on my feet. I curled my wings around us out of habit and let Regan go when they recoiled and disappeared. "Brother? You are back already?" Jasper called, Regan turned and saw him, she ran to hide behind me. "And you have brought the girl home, I see!"
"Yes, Jasper. I have, she was in danger. I had no other choice besides letting a pure souled incarnation die." I replied.
"What?" Regan asked.
"Ah, yes. It's time to explain, come inside then. No, don't look over there." I pulled Regan over by her arm when she tried to look behind her.
I led Regan inside of my home by her hand, she was holding something tightly to her chest with her other hand. Ah, the picture.
"Who are you? Where have you taken me?" Regan asked.
"Well, you're in Hell. To put it bluntly." Jasper said. "And I am Jasper."
"Why did you take me?" Regan asked me.
"I told you before: You were in danger, one of my kind saw your soul and wanted it for his or herself." I explained, showing her to a couch. Which she refused to sit on.
"Why?"
"Because your soul is pure." Jasper said. "Demons are very much attracted souls like yours. Pure ones. And the fact you're a secondary reincarnation is most impressive."
Regan backed away from Jasper as he walked around her, taking in her appearance and smell. She was shaking like it was freezing cold in this warm dimension.
"Reincarnation? Quid haec amentia est?" (Latin: What is this madness?) Regan shuddered to herself.
"Ooooh, Latin?" Jasper asked in a chuckle.
"O, dea grata, salvum me.." (Latin: Oh, dear Goddess, save me..) Regan begged, clutching the photo of her family close to her chest.
"Goddess?" Jasper wondered. "Have we gotten a witch?"
"Quiet, Jasper.. Regan, you must understand a few things. One, we will never harm you for any reason whatsoever. Two, I have brought you here for your protection. Three, you mustn't leave this house without us. Or you will be taken by other hands and die. You must obey our rules." I said, holding her by her shoulders as I looked her in her frail, watering, blue eyes.
Regan was speaking in languages like Latin, Greek, French, Italian. " I'm gonna-- Ego (Latin: I'm going to).. Je vais mourir (French: I'm going to die)... Je vais mourir... Je.. Je... (French: I.. I..) Che dire -- (Italian: What about --)" she was stuttering at the realization of it all and backing away from me.
"Calm down, Regan. Calm down --" I said, walking towards her.
"No! Please!" Regan begged. "Quæso, domine.." (Latin: Please, no..) Regan cried.
"Wasn't your family hurting you as well?" Jasper wondered.
"Jasper." I warned. You can't push a human too much, this one is unfairly delicate. "You must be tired, it was a long flight after all." I said to Regan.
She was just staring at me, mumbling something under her shaky breath. "Juliet, why don't you show Regan to one of the closest guest rooms?" I asked one of the servants nearby.
"Of course, sir.." Juliet said, gently leading Regan away. Nothing is better than a soul that is trained to be gentle and do whatever it's told.
".. So... Will this work out like you hope, brother?" Jasper asked.
"She'll understand soon enough. But for extra precaution, we have to lay down rules." I said.
"Rules? Like what?"
"Well.. No going outside is number one, for starters."
"Hmmm, you think she'll be a good pet?"
"I highly think so.."
"Well, we're going to have to get her clothes from her other home."
"Mmm, I had almost forgotten.." I went and sat on the black leather couch I had offered Regan to sit on layed back.
"Alexandru.." Jasper said.
I looked up at him with my right leg resting across the left, Jasper rarely ever says my name. He's quite 'Old Fashioned'.
".. Do you know who wants Regan?"
"No.."
