"You want me to do what?" Loki asked.

"It's simple, really. We just need the both of you to act like you just got married."

"The mission literally takes place at a honeymoon destination. Did you really think this wasn't going to happen?" Tony asked, giving Loki a look saying he was an idiot.

"I was thinking it'd be Natasha and Clint. Or anyone but her and I, really."

"Everyone else has set jobs, Loki," Thor sighed, exasperated.

All the while you stayed silent. They had a point. Everyone else needed to be where they were at. You and Loki needed to do this. He just seemed to hate you even more for it.

Since he joined the team, he was nothing but rude to you. You were a spy, nothing else. You weren't even properly trained in fighting yet.

One night while silently crawling through the vents, you cut your hand while over Loki's room. The tiniest gasps had escaped your mouth and then he knew you were there.

"What are you doing in my room?"

You looked up from your new position on the floor, pinned under his staff. "Uh..."

"Were you set to spy on me? I can't believe they still cannot trust me!"

"Well, no... I was just-"

"Spying on me yourself?"

"I- no! I was practicing and I cut my hand!"

"Yeah. Sure. I totally believe you."

"Look!" You let out a huff, holding up your hand.

Loki snorts. "Maybe you do need more practice. How are you an Avenger again?"

You glare and storm out of his room.

That had been the end of it. It was all anger and hatred from there. At least on his end.

You couldn't help but fall for him. Some people would call you crazy, but they don't pay attention to every detail like you were trained to. Everybody changes who they are when in front of certain people.

You just paid attention to Loki in other situations. Like how his face lights up when a kid comes running up to him. Or he'll secretly do things for the other Avengers. Like make sure Tony has coffee in the morning. Or how Clint's bow always seems to look brand-new.

He would hum to himself in the kitchen, a song you assumed was from Asgard. You didn't recognize it, and you've tried so hard.

You slowly fell in love, seeing the little things. The things that made him unique and truly himself. The things that nobody else saw.

Packing your bag, you wondered how the two of you would even pass as newlyweds. You could barely fake a smile at him these days.

"____!" Loki pounded on your door. "Let's go. They're forcing us to ride in an airplane instead of the Quinjet."

You opened the door, your bag already packed. "Oh no. You're going to have to be seen with me? In cramped quarters? This must be torture, not a mission." You pushed past him, dragging the bag along with you.

"What are you doing?!" You growled as he picked up your bag.

He nodded to the taxi now waiting out front. "Newlyweds, remember?" He gave you a quick smile and wheeled the bag out. It was like a switch flipped. The moment people were around, it felt like there wasn't any ounce of contempt.
