Third person.

It's been two days since Ibrahim came back with the news that he had an older brother, and that from another woman. Maryam tried to bring him out, at least of the room but he refused. That helped build the relationship to the next level.

She stayed with him throughout that time and cheered him up. And that way, their relationship blossomed. They shared their sorrow and grief together like how married couples do.
She got to see the other side of Ibrahim that she never thought exist.

Yesterday, he suggested that they play Scrabble.

"Dora, do you do words?" Ibrahim asked his wife as he button up his shirt.

Maryam who was arranging teacups for their evening relaxation answered. "Words as in??" She asked him confused.

He furrowed his eyebrows and walked up to her. "Don't tell me you never played words in your secondary school."

"Words" she murmured and tried to remember.

"Ya Allah! What kind of a wife do I have? She doesn't know words." He raised his hands dramatically.

"Well then, maybe my darling husband should show me what it is." She said and rolled her eyes sarcastically.

"Okay." He walked up to his closet and brought out a large box.

Maryam saw the labelled name and burst into series of laughter. "What kind of old School boy are you?? This is Scrabble." She tried to control her laughter. Ibrahim rolled Hus eyes and set the board where she kept their tea.

"It isn't funny you know, that's what we call it." He told her.

She went and sat down opposite him. "Who are the we'" she wanted to challenge him.

She noticed the change in his expression and kept quite. From the looks on his face, she knew it was Farhaan he was talking about. But since that incidence with Farhaan, he tried to avoid all conversation related to his best friend. Maryam tried to reason with him but he brushed her off.

"Pick one." He broke the silence. She closed her eyes and picked from the bag of tiles. Ibrahim did the same but with his eyes opened.

"Hey! That's cheating." She accused him.

"Don't be a kid Dora, it's nothing." He smirked.

"No. You have to pick again." She crossed her arms and stubbornly said.

"You look hot when you're serious." He blurted. That really came out unexpected, even to him. She blushed and bowed her head in embarrassment.

"You know what? Let's not do this anymore." He suggested, standing up and grabbing her arm lightly.

"Noo... Ibrahim. You're just afraid of defeat." She yanked her hand and sat down.

"Is that so, then let's do it."

He closed his eyes and picked a tile. "Mine is M" he said.

"I" she showed him her tile. "So I will pick first." She added and picked get tiles and arranged it carefully on her rack.

As she's doing so, Ibrahim couldn't help but stare at his wife. How he made her life a miserable hell even before getting to know her, all in the name that he was in love with Anisa. He thought that was love, buy Alas he was wrong. It was nothing compared to love.

This, this is love. What he feels right now is love. The feeling that came but he didn't even know. The feeling that took control of his whole body without him knowing. But what he doesn't know is that if she felt the same. That it's not the role of a wife to husband she's playing, rather as her soul mate.

"Ibrahiiiimmmmm!!!!" She screamed bringing him back to reality.

"Oh sorry." He apologized and glanced at the word she made.

"You zooned out on me, again." She narrowed her eyes at him. "What were you thinking??" She asked him.

"No, nothing serious." He said. "So matched huh" he glanced at the words while looking at his own tikes placed on his rack.

"I insist you tell me. Remember we agreed on no secrets between us??" She refused to let the topic slide.

"Done!" He said as he finished making his words, completely ignoring her statement.

"Ibrahim you know am not joking bahh" she said again.

"What do you want to know Dora?"

"What you were thinking. In fact you were staring at me. So whatever it is, it had to do with me." She explained.

"Wow! You're such an observant." He tried to wander away the main topic.

"You're trying to digress from the main topic."

"Maryam just drop it." His expression became hard and blank.

"Okay..." She replied and stood up to leave.

He stood up and quickly held her hands. "Where are you going to??" He asked her.

"No where." She replied dryly.

"Dora, am sorry." He cupped her cute face on his hands. "Please..."

"You said you wanted this to work out, you said no more secrets between us, and you keep doing this." She complained.

"You want to know what I was thinking, then so be it. I was thinking on how to tell you how much I love you without you feeling the same way okay." He said it all at once. It was all too quick for her to comprehend what just happened.

"You-you what??" She stumbled upon her words.

"You heard me, unless if you want me to repeat it." He said and she nodded.

"I love you, now, always and forever." He breathed out. At that moment, she couldn't breath for a nano second. She even thought she was dreaming, but the person in front of her proved otherwise. She's actually not dreaming, and it's really Ibrahim that's saying it. Here she thought it was only a one sided love. But now that he said it, she wanted to hug him and tell him that she also felt the same way. But what about Payback's a bitch??? She wouldn't admit it, not until he also suffers.

"Say something Dora. "He pleaded with her.

"Uhhh... Thank you." She replied an quickly ran out of the room.

"Ya Allah!" Ibrahim muttered an palmed his face. Even though he felt bad for her not feeling the same way, at the same time he felt a great relief when he told her. It was as if a great load was lifted upon his shoulder... It's unusual but after many many many years, he felt happy, he felt himself again...
