Maryam's POV

Today is the day am supposed to meet my soon To be husband. I couldn't stop myself from thinking of what am going to meet, as in will he be nice to me as I heard his mum say, or the other way round? I still can't believe that me, I maryam, is getting married in less than two weeks. It's happening so fast.

"Maryam ! " shouted my step mum. 'the usual. ' I said to myself. 'don't even worry, I you are getting rid of me in less than too weeks. '

"na'am" I answered and went to where she is.

"are you ready? " she asked.

"no" I replied.

"then what have you been doing since ?" she asked. "didn't I ask ilhaam to tell you that he will be coming by 1:00? She asked again."

"ilhaam didn't tell me anything wallahi. " I replied.

"ilhaam! " she called .

"na'am" she answered.

"didn't i ask you to tell ikraam to get ready?" she asked her.

"you did " she replied.

"did you?"

"yes i did." she lied.

"wallahi she didnt tell me anything " i defended myself.

"lier" she accused. " i told you, but you didnt even answer me." she lied again.

"wallahi she didnt tell me anything, i swear." i said.

"shut up" my stepmum shouted. "common go and get ready, ungrateful bitch." she added.
'its almost over.' I said to myself and went straight to my room to get ready.

The maltreatment will be over very soon. but what about my education? does that mean that am dropping out half way? my dreams are shattered then. I made a very big mistake telling a stranger my problems, and Insa Allah it wouldn't repeat it self. i will have to learn not to trust people so easily, because that's my biggest problem. once you console me with sweet words, i will give up and tell you without thinking twice. but now, i learnt my lesson and its never ever going to repeat it self.

"are you ready?" my step mum asked as she came into the room.

"yes" i replied.

"good" she said. "saura kije ki bamu kunya." she said and headed to the door.

"make it snappy, he is waiting for you at the garden." she added before she left.

"ok" i replied. garden of all places in this house? this must be her choice i guess. Is not as if we are going to have some romantic moment.

i finished tiring my head scarf, took my veil and headed to the garden.' sa'idni ya rabb' sa'idni ya rabb'(help me god , help me god).
"Lets do this" i said to myself as i reached the door to the garden. "bismillah" i murmured and turned the knob to open the door. There he is, sitting on a bench is back facing me.

"As-salamu alaikum" I said to make him notice my presence.

"wa-alaikum salam" he replied without turning. Then he must be a really arrogant guy. I then proceed to where he is sitting so that I can see my soon to be husband face to face.

Am kind of nervous, what should I do next? And he is not helping either. Ya Allah, help me please.

"are you gonna stay there for the rest of the day? "he asked arrogantly interrupting me from my thoughts. What is wrong with this guy? Guess I have to leave in the same roof with this Mr arrogant guy.
