"We Can Just Pretend it Never Happened"

I open my eyes and find George not in bed with me. I sit up and wrap the blanket around my naked body and rub my eyes. I hear the familiar tapping of a keyboard and look over to my desk. There he is, shirtless, sitting with his computer, probably editing or responding to emails. The kid never takes a break. He turns his head back towards my bed and sees me awake.

"Morning, babes," He picks up a mug and brings it to me. "I made you a cuppa since I figured you might need it. With all the bottles out last night, I thought you'd might wake up a little hung over."

I take the mug from his hands which is still nice and warm, "Aren't you just a doll." George gives me a quick peck before returning to the desk. "But I actually feel fine, I think Alex is the one you should be worrying about, he's such a lightweight."

George laughs, "he is, isn't he. Well, I actually do have to run to my flat to get some things I forgot, so I'll go check on him now."

George starts to get up and gets his shirt and throws it on over his head. Speaking of Alex, him and I should probably have a talk, so I say, "Hey, do you mind if I come with you. I want to thank Alex for last night and ask him if he wants to be friends."

"You want to be friends with Alex?" George comes to sit next to me on the bed. He ruffles his hand through his hair.

"Yeah, he helped me through a lot and I feel like we could be good for each other."

George just laughs and says, "alright."

"Okay, let me just freshen up quick and we can head out," I go to search for my clothes from yesterday that were thrown off wildly in last night's activities, then head to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

We enter George's apartment and Alex strolls by on his way to the kitchen and he pauses for a second when he sees me.

"How're you feeling, Alex?" I call to him with a smile. Alex just groans and walks his way to the kettle and begins filling it with water. "Well I hope you're feeling well enough to talk."

Alex puts the kettle on the stove and leans against the counter with his arms folded, "talk about what?"

"I just want to thank you for last night," I turn to George. "Do you mind giving us some privacy? I want to be sincere with Alex and don't need you making jokes."

George puts his hands up in surrender, "fine, I can tell when I'm not wanted. I'll be in my room when you're done."

George kisses the top of my head and then walks down the hall towards his room. I wait until I hear him shut his door before I make my way over to Alex.

"Look," Alex starts. "We don't even have to talk about it. We can just pretend it never happened, aye?"

"But the thing is Alex, I don't want to forget it happened. I don't feel any guilt for kissing you," I lightly place my hand on Alex's folded arms.

He furrows his brow and looks down at my hand, "what? But you're back with George, right?"

"Yeah," I smile. "But that doesn't change how I was feeling last night. I mean, we started off the day hitting on each other, it only made sense that it ended in us kissing."

Alex starts blushing, "It was that obvious I was into you?"

"I mean, yeah." I giggle. "But I was into you, too. And then you were the one to chase after me, not George. You were to one to help me pick up the pieces after the fiasco yesterday. You made me feel comfortable and safe, Alex, and I will never be able to thank you for that. But maybe in my drunken state, kissing you was the way I wanted to thank you."
