Ch. 6: The First Step

"Good morning." Norman said to the press at the conference. Harry and Peter were standing in the back, Peter heavily disguised. "I have called this press conference to address the recent news about Spider-Man and my opinions on the matter." Norman took a deep breath. "Spider-Man is innocent. He has protected this city. He has been framed and I have two witnesses. Our first witness is Michelle Jones." Norman stepped back from the podium with a smile and MJ went up.

"Hey, so I know Spider-Man personally and I'll start by saying that there's no way he'd ever do anything like that. Not only that but Mysterio is the real mastermind behind this whole mess. During the fight in Prague, one of his hologram devices fell and I found it. All the Elementals were made using that technology and Mysterio is from our own Earth. So yeah." MJ stepped away from the podium and Norman introduced the next witness.

"Our last witness is Edward Leeds."

Ned walked up to the podium. "Well, I'm Spider-Man's guy in the chair, so I usually know what's happening. I was also there to see the hologram technology, and Spider-man saved a bunch of people and did his best to stop Mysterio. He would never purposely hurt anyone."

"Thank you. I have also talked to Spider-Man, and he is not lying. Mysterio framed Spider-Man before his death as his last act of revenge. I hope that you all can see that. Thanks for listening."

Norman ended the conference and stepped away from the podium and Norman, Harry, Peter, Ned and MJ all met in Oscorp tower.

"The internet is already going crazy." MJ said. "Norman Osborn Speaks Out on Spider-Man." MJ read one of the headlines.

"I just hope my name gets cleared." Peter said.

"Me too." MJ said.

Peter smiled at MJ and she grabbed his hand.

"Aww, love." Ned said with a smile.

MJ rolled her eyes. "So Mr. Osborn, what's the next step to clearing Peter's name?"

"Well, we've got to let the press sit on this new information for a while before we can officially do anything. Peter, I suggest you still do your rounds and help the city out as best as you can." Norman answered.

"Alright." Peter said.

"Once the people see you doing good and they hear the truth, they'll start to trust you again." Harry said.

"And what if people try to arrest me?" Peter asked.

"Run away." Norman said.

"That doesn't seem like it would help clear my name." Peter muttered.

...

"What are you doing?" Morgan asked Peter.

"Trying to figure out which suit to wear." Peter answered.

"What do you mean?"

"I have to go and see if anyone needs help. I don't know why I can't just put one on, I just feel as if there's something holding me back." Peter looked at Morgan. "Hey, why don't you decide.

"Okay!" Morgan said, skipping over to Peter.

"So this was the first real suit that I got. Your dad made it for me." Peter showed Morgan the Stark Tech suit. "And this is the Iron Spider suit. It's nanotech." Morgan watched as the nano particles whirled around in their container. "And this is my new suit. I made it before I fought Mysterio."

"Hmm," Morgan looked between all the suits. "Which one has the most features?"

"They all have features that are different." Peter said.
