Ch. 20: Showdown

Jessica had prayed that Gwen would make it to the cops on time. Her, Harry and Peter were putting up a good fight, but they were outnumbered one to two. They wouldn't be able to keep this up for much longer.

Peter was busy fighting against Green Goblin and Vulture, and he was at a disadvantage, as both of them could fly. He could tell that Green Goblin was trying to avoid Harry, and Peter wasn't quite sure why he was still even fighting. He looked over at Harry, who seemed to be handling Scorpion and Chameleon pretty well, and Jessica, who had just used her venom blast to hit Mysterio in the gut.

Peter used his webs to stop Vulture from slamming his wing onto him and flipped over the two villains, shooting webs at both when he landed. The three all three punches at one another, each dodging them.

Green Goblin grabbed something and threw it at Peter when his back was turned. Peter's spider-senses has turned on and he did a backflip over the object, it hitting Vulture instead.

The ball that Green Goblin has thrown hit Vulture and exploded, causing one of Vultures wings to malfunction.

"What!?" Green Goblin screamed through clenched teeth.

Peter looked at the wreckage when he suddenly felt himself being picked up. He turned around to see Mysterio holding him.

Peter began to struggle. "How are you doing this!? I thought it was all an illusion."

"Not anymore." Mysterio laughed. "With Osborns technology, Mysterio went from being an illusion to reality." Mysterio brought Peter over the edge of the building. "I've been waiting a long time for this." He said as he dropped Peter.

Peter began falling when he was grabbed by something, and looked up to see Harry. "Don't worry, Pete. I got you."

"Thanks Harry." Peter replied as he was set back down in the middle of the fight. He quickly ducked when Scorpion launched his metal tail at him, and Jessica jumped over to help Peter.

"We're way to outnumbered." Peter said. "I don't know how much longer we can keep this up."

"I called for help, hopefully it comes soon." Jessica said, shooting a venom blast at Mysterio. "Otherwise, I'm not sure what we'll do."

"At least we know Harry will be alright." Peter teased. Jessica laughed slightly before quickly doing a side flip to dodge an incoming blast from Mysterio.

The fight went on, all three heroes fighting each villain. The heroes had kept this up for a while, and they began to grow weaker with each blow.

Harry got thrown back by Chameleon and was slowly getting up as Peter had gotten pinned by Green Goblin.

"And now, Spider-Man, you die." Norman said. He prepared to strike when Peter noticed Scorpion sneaking up behind Harry, about to impale him with his sharp tail.

"Harry..." Peter weakly whispered almost inaudible, but Green Goblin heard it. He looked over to see Harry slowly regaining his stand and Scorpion about to strike.

"No..." he said, and Peter was released from his grip. Peter coughed and slowly sat up, looking over at Harry.

Harry had just stood up when Scorpion had launched his tail.

"Harry!!!" Jessica screamed.

Harry turned around as the blade came towards him and shut his eyes, preparing for the impact. Harry heard the blade penetrate skin, and opened his eyes after not feeling anything.

Harry saw his dad standing in front of him, impaled by the blade. Harry's face quickly changed to one of worry as Scorpion removed the blade.

"No, no, no, dad look at me, it's okay," Harry said, tears burning his eyes. He was on his knees and held onto his dad, taking off the Green Goblin helmet.
