Can ignored them all. What he couldn't ignore, was a knock on the door. It was Ley. She barged in with a happy smile and hideous smirk. She came. She talked about her new crush. She walked out. Can tried his best not to kick her out of the room himself.
He sighed and took out a novel, to calm his still running anger. He just couldn't take the scene out of his mind nor his boss's alluring smile. Nevertheless he concentrated on his novel, to distract himself from the thoughts of Tin.
But then, there was a knock on the door. Again. It was his mum. She looked surprisingly happy for some reason. He always wondered how that women was always energetic, like she swallowed a happy pill.
She beamed "Oy Cantaloupe, Tin visited. He said he wants to meet you. Go get your ass down stairs hun."
Can froze, he panicked. He was not ready to see him now. He just wasn't. He didn't expect him to come visit him right at his house at an unholy hour.
"Mum, mum, mamma!""I'm right here son, why are you shouting?"
"Mumma, do me a favour. Tell him that I'm not home or something." Can said. Can's mother eyed him suspiciously. She raised an eyebrow, "why are you avoiding him?"
"I'm not, Ma. I just- I don't want to meet him right now. Please tell him I'm hanging out at a friend's house." Can paced from left to right.
"Cantaloupe. you're boss is at the door and you want me to send him away. Not happening. Where are your manners?"
Can face palmed. "Ma.. That's not what it is about. I'll explain later but for now, just help me!"
Can's mother sighed. "Okay, I'll help you this time. I feel bad lying to Tin. He's such a well mannered child. You better explain everything later"
Can resisted the urge to roll his eyes at that. Her mother was dramatic. All the mothers are dramatic, indeed. He sent her mum away, and snuck in behind the stairs to listen to their conversation. He peeped out through the window and couldn't help but feel a pang in his chest on seeing a tired Tin leaned up against the car. He looked sad. He found himself staring at him for more than minute observing every detail of his boss like he was a sculpture.
He realized he was actually acting like a creep. And that's when Tin looked up and caught Can looking at him from the window. Tin perked up on that, Can was about to slide the curtains when Tin shouted from outside.
"CAN, YOU'RE UP THERE? DON'T HIDE BEHIND THE CURTAINS, I ALREADY SAW YOU!!"
Can cursed under his breath for trying to hide behind the curtains like an idiot. But he didn't dare to show himself. He quietly listened to whatever Tin was speaking.
"MELON, GIVE ME CHANCE TO TALK. I KNOW YOU'RE STILL THERE. PLEASE JUST COME DOWN HERE ONCE."
Can didn't budge.
" LETS JUST CLEAR THIS MISUNDERSTANDING. WE'LL TALK THIS OUT TOGETHER. Please Melon, just give me a chance.."
Tin's voice grew quieter. Can shut his eyes closed hearing him plead. Maybe it was time to talk this mess out. At least he could come to a conclusion. He peeked from behind the curtain. Tin was looking down at the ground, he was still leaning against his car right opposite to his gate. Can sighed. He headed downstairs and opened the door, the creaking sound of he gate startled Tin. His eyes widened at Can's presence. He wasn't expecting him to show up after all.
