I woke slowly the next morning, my eyes fluttering open to the sunlight. I sighed and stretched slightly rolling over to get comfy again.
But when I rolled over and saw Ashton lying beside me, bare chested it shocked me to say the least.
I let out a scream and shots up right grabbing the sheets tightly to my body.
"What? What happened? What?" Ashton question in a rush looking around until his eyes rested on me.
"What are you doing here?" We questioned at the same time.
I looked around, this wasn't my bed, this wasn't my room. Oh sweet lord, we were both naked.
My eyes widened, "We didn't...?" I trailed off.
"Oh but I think we did" Ashton said with a smirk.
"Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh my fucking god!" I screeched.
"Oh calm down, it wasn't that bad" Ashton said shrugging.
"Don't you fucking tell me to calm down Irwin!" I snapped.
"Jesus" he sighed rolling his eyes and getting out of bed.
"Ashton! Trousers!" I cried covering my eyes.
"Really? Come on it's not like you haven't seen it all" he said laughing.
"Ashton!"
"Fine" he sighed grabbing his boxers and pulling them back on.
I grabbed the top sheet wrapping it close to my body and I ran back to my room. I turned on my shower and stepped inside once it was hot enough to leave my skin red.
I couldn't believe myself, did I have no self control? One thing did spin around in my head was Ashton's voice saying "God I love you." Did he mean that? Or was it all the alcohol in his bloodstream make him speak things he didn't mean? What had I got myself into?
I eventually got out of the shower once I could no longer feel the burning sensation of the water. My skin was red and I would say I scrubbed away two layers of skin. I dried off and slipped on jeans and a hoodie before drying my hair and applying some makeup.
I sat on my bed, knees tucked up into my chest, still horrified at myself from last nights actions.
My thoughts were interrupted by a knocking at my door.
"Hey, I'm heading to the studio. Come with me, Luke's girlfriend will be there, keep her company" Ashton said, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand awkwardly.
"Yeah sure, just let me get my shoes. I'll meet you in the car" I said with a fake smile, he nodded in return and left my room closing my door.
Oh god, spending time alone with Ashton in a confined space. Great.
I gather courage and made my way downstairs, I headed to the door as Ashton locked up. I stood at his car waiting and as he turned he unlocked it. I got in a buckled up carefully and stared blankly out the window.
The engine roared to life under the bonnet and soon the outside world blurred with Ashton's driving. I sat not knowing what to say or do, it was like I was eighteen again and I had drunk dialled the person I fancied to tell them I loved them. I kept sneaking sly glances at him as he drove.
We got to the studio and still hadn't said two words to each other. I got out of his car and waited for Ashton to show me where to go. He took my hand and lead me inside. I soon spotted Luke and his girlfriend, Catherine, sitting on the couches in the lounge.
"You'll be ok out here right?" Ashton asked. I gave him a nod and a smile. He smiled back and kissed my temple.
"Come on Luke, we've work to do" Ashton called and headed off out of sight. I took a seat beside Catherine and she gave me a look.
"What?" I asked.
"What was that? He's never like that around you. What happened? Did you talk it out?" She said, scooting closer so we wouldn't be heard.
"Emm, we did a bit more than talk..." I trailed off.
"No way" Catherine gasped, "You did the nasty?!"
"Shhhh" I hushed, "I don't want everyone to know"
"Sorry!" She whispered, "Was he any good?"
"Cath!" I exclaimed. She raised one eyebrow at me and I sighed nodding my head. A smirk soon appeared on her face.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh nothing, that just might bring Ashton back around" she said.
"What do you mean?"
"Well ever since you got engaged the boys noticed a slight difference in his attitude with everything so this might just help more"
"But we haven't spoken since July, so it can't be me" I said confused.
"Whatever you say Ali" she said, "So what are you gonna do for Halloween?"
"It's only September" I laughed.
Our conversation continued until the boys finished whatever they were doing. I stood up as Ashton came into my view. A smile instantly broke out onto his face once our eyes locked, which I found weird. His hand reached for mine and our fingers interlocked, and I felt a spark run up my arm.
"Come on let's go home" he said, nodding his head towards the car. I nodded and waved goodbye to the others as we left.
I got comfy in the passenger seat as Ashton started the engine. I let out a sigh as he drove and gathered courage to ask the question I was dying to ask.
"Ash?" I said, fiddling with my jumper.
"Yeah?" he answered, quickly glancing at me then back to the road.
"Do you remember what you said last night?" I asked.
"Apparently I said a lot" he said with a laugh.
"Shut up" I laughed back and hit his arm playfully, "But seriously do you?"
"No, I was fairly wasted. Should I?" He asked reaching for my hand.
"No, it's nothing" I said, pulling my hand away.
"You sure?" He asked, looking at me as we stopped at a traffic light.
"Yeah it's nothing Ash" I said, looking out the window.
Maybe he didn't love me then. Maybe it was all the alcohol talking. But all that was going round my head was 'drunk words are sober thoughts'.
So did he or didn't he love me?
