Harry's POVWe rushed to Hagrid's hut but we didn't get there as fast as we hoped. We had a few pit stops because Ron would throw up slugs. We finally arrived at Hagrid's and Hermione pounded on the door.
"Hagrid it's us! Ron has a- issue." She called out and then turned towards Ron and rolled her eyes.
Hagrid opened the door and put his hands on his hips, "What is it?"
Ron threw up a slug on his front step and Hagrid looked at him with surprise and disgust.
"I see..."
He stepped out of the way for us to walk in. We sat on Hagrid's couch and there was a bucket placed in front of Ron.
"This calls for a specialist's equipment. Nothing to do but wait till it stops, I'm afraid." Hagrid stated and Ron threw up another slug.
I winced and felt like I had to throw up as well, but of course I didn't.
"Better out than in. Who was Ron trying to curse, anyway?" Hagrid had asked.
"Malfoy. He called Hermione... Well, I don't know exactly what it means."
Hermione got up and crossed her arms, "He called me a Mudblood."
Hagrid quietly gasped, "He did not."
"What's a Mudblood?" I asked as Ron was slightly shaking and looked green as ever.
Hermione turned around and had a tear in her eye, "It means 'dirty blood.' Mudblood's a foul name for someone who's Muggle-born. Someone with non-magic parents. Someone like me." Brianna gave Hermione a hankerchief to wipe her eyes with. Hermione quietly thanked Bri and wiped her eyes, "It's not a term one usually hears in civilized conversation."
"See, the thing is, Harry, there are some wizards, like the Malfoy family... ...who think they're better than everyone else because they're pure-blood."
"Malfoy clashed with Bri too, called her a dirty half-blood. That's when Ron tried to curse Malfoy." I spoke, "That's horrible."
Ron threw up another slug, "It's disgusting."
And it's codswallop to boot. Dirty blood. Why, there isn't a wizard alive today that's not half-blood or less. More to the point, they've yet to think of a spell that our Hermione can't do. Come here." Hagrid waved his hand towards her.
Hermione stepped closer to Hagrid and he took her hand, "Don't you think on it, Hermione. Don't you think on it for one minute."
Then Hagrid looked over at Bri and waved over to her too. "And Bri... don't let mean ol' Malfoy bring you down. He's just trying to keep up expectations and be like his father." Bri nodded and understood what Hagrid meant.
"Ron here was foolish yet brave protecting you and defendin' you ya know?"
Ron started to blush and you could tell even though he was puke green. Bri turned away and tried to hide her face from Hagrid.
After talking with Hagrid for a little while we all decided to head back to the castle for the rest of our classes and then to other activities.
I was called to Professor Lockharts office for detention and I knew it was going to be a bore. I didn't quite care for the man he seemed different in a bad way and too prideful. I didn't do anything wrong to deserve this detention even though the situation happened that I got detention for.
"Harry, Harry, Harry. Can you possibly imagine... ...a better way to serve detention... ...than by helping me to answer my fan mail?"
"Not really." I answered looking up at him while he signed his picture.
