Parents aren't perfect
Most smiles are pretend
Books are just ink and paper
There are few happy ends
Honest people lie
And the bravest are afraid
The stars and planets hide
Because nightmares lurk in the day
The richest always want more
I bet the wisest people cry
The world is filled with lonely people
Because it's safer to stay inside
But with all this truth there is a hope
That maybe the world is not so crude
For reading the words of a sad girls book
