Superhero's, Masquerades, Halloween, Cosplay
Many people wear a mask
A symbol of trick and fun
But it's important to remember to take the mask off
When the game is done
Your mask however is a bit different than that
Yours comes at a higher cost
Wear your mask around long enough
The person beneath it gets lost
Do you even remember who you really are?
Behind your cruelty and your jokes
I remember the sweet heart that you used to have
Or was that also just a hoax?
Reasons for your mask are not so easily defined
If you wanna know the reason you have to read between the lines
Do you wear it in defense?
Something in your memories you don't wanna see
Are you're hiding from you're past?
Or are you just hiding yourself from me.
