It's on days like this when I miss you
Days when the sun is as warm as your smile
When the breeze is the tone of your laughter
And the sky the color of your eyes***
Where have all the people gone
The couples seen on black and white screens
The young man who helps ladies cross streets
And the boys who skip rocks in the streamWhere have all the people gone
The neighbors who came over for dinner
The families who got together to play cards
And no one cared who was the winnerFor these people in their place
The people now on call
The ones who leave and lie and hurt
Don't seem like people at all

How long did it take after Dorothy left Oz
For the tin mans new heart to break
Who showed him he should've wished for courage or brains
And that wanting a heart was a mistake
