Gender Reveal - Part 10

The day had finally come, both Jimin and Yoongi were nervous to say the least, but it was a nervous excitement. The men made their way to the hospital on their own and waited, Yoongi held tightly onto his lovers hand the whole time. They were then called to go into the scanning room. 

"Good Morning Mr Park. I'm Doctor Im and I'll be completing your 20 week scan today. Would you like to find out the gender?"

"Yes we would." Smiled Jimin, still holding onto Yoongi's hand.

"Okay, I'll just put the gel on. I'm sure you know that it's cold by now." The Doctor laughed. "Okay, there we have baby's head, two arms and legs." 

Jimin had experienced a scan only once before when he was pregnant with Jae-Hyun, so he knew how beautiful it was. But this was Yoongi's first time experiencing such thing. Hearing the baby's heartbeat and seeing how much it had grown since the 12 week scan, he was overwhelmed. A few tears of joy quietly fell down his cheek.

The Doctor spent some time taking the babies measurements to make sure it was growing well, then he moved the machine to the right angle.

"And if you look closely you can see that the town of you are having a beautiful baby Girl." Smiled the Doctor.

"I told you." Jimin laughed. "Why are you crying?" 

"I'm just so happy." Replied Yoongi, wiping away his tears.

The Doctor finished up the scan and gave them plenty of pictures. The two men made their way back home, chatting excitedly about how they would tell everyone else.

When they got back home, they found not only Jimin's mum and Jae-Hyun, but also Jin and Namjoon.

"What are you guys doing here?" Jimin asked.

"We wanted to be the first ones you revealed the gender to." Said Jin happily. 

"Okay, would you like some cake first?" Asked Jimin, pulling out a white-iced cake from his bag.

"Jimin, I'm pregnant too, of course I want cake." Jin laughed, completely unaware of what the cake meant.

"Okay, Yoongi can you cut us all a piece?"

Yoongi cut the cake and handed the first piece to Jin. Jin looked at it an paused, then looked up at the others.

"The inside is pink, does that mean you're having a girl?"

"Yes." Said Jimin.

"Yay! Finally someone else is having a girl like me." Jin laughed, referring to his two older daughters. "I'm so excited for you! We still have the girl's old baby clothes and toys, would you like to have some of them? I would offer you all of it, but we might need it depending on the gender of our baby."

"Of course, that would help us so much. And when you find out the gender of your baby, we need to go shopping." Replied Jimin.

Namjoon and Yoongi took Jae-Hyun upstairs and tried to keep him entertained whilst Jin, Jimin and his Mother talked about babies.

"I still can't believe you're going to be a dad, and you're already a step dad to Jae-Hyun. You're the last person in our friend group that I would have picked to have children." Namjoon laughed.

"I know, I still can't believe it at times. But it's the best thing that's ever happened to me, I haven't been this happy before in my whole life." Replied Yoongi.

"I'm so happy for the both of you, I really am. I hope you pick me as the best man at your wedding."

"Of course I will, who else would I pick?"

"Hoseok?" Namjoon suggested.

"No, he's gonna be the flower boy." Yoongi laughed.

"Yeah that sound perfect for him." Namjoon laughed. "Y'know, I can't believe I'm having a third child. When I first met Jin, I didn't even think about having kids. And know here we are."

"It's crazy, when you think about how quick your life changes. As soon as I met Jimin, I became a father to Jae-Hyun. That all happened so quick."

"Yeah, it's all part of the strange thing we call life." Namjoon replied.

The day ended and the two couples settled down into their beds, excitement clear on their faces even when they slept.
