I cheer as I watch my boyfriend playing in the game, jumping excitedly and clapping my hands.

It's almost the end of the game and it looks like our school is definitely going to win. After all, we're leading by quite a lot.

Biting my lip as I watch Ashley running down the field, I hold my breath for a second before he scores, making me cheer again.

Not long afterwards, the game ends, the whistle blowing. As soon as it does, Ashley jogs over to me, taking off his helmet.

He smiles and wraps one arm around me as I stand in the front row, leaning against the barricade, his helmet tucked under his other arm.

I wrap my arms around him too, smiling brightly. "Well done, baby, you did amazing." I say and kiss him softly. I can feel him smiling against my lips.

He pulls away for a second to put his helmet down before scooping me up into his arms, lifting me over the small barricade.

I laugh softly and wrap my arms around his neck as he holds me bridal style, spinning me around in front of the crowd of people that were here to watch the game.

He stops spinning me for a moment before he just looks into my eyes for a moment, smiling softly. "You're so beautiful." He says before he kisses me.

After another moment, he places me back down on my feet, smiling. "Stay right here. I'll be back in just a second." He whispers and kisses my cheek before he jogs away.

I stand and wait for him, feeling a little awkward. Everyone seems to be staring at me as I stand alone in the middle of the field.

It feels like it takes a long time, but it probably only took a few minutes. He walks up behind me and taps my shoulder, making me jump slightly. He laughs softly at me before I turn around.

When I turn around, he gets down on one knee, smiling as he looks up at me. "Don't worry, I'm not about to embarrass you too much." He smiles, holding a bouquet of my favourite flowers.

"I'm going to keep this short and sweet. Just like you." He laugh slightly at his own joke, making me smile. I've always found that absolutely adorable about him.

"Y/N, you are the most amazing girl I've ever met. I've had quite a few girlfriends before, but none of them could ever compare to you. I love you so much, and I would love it if you would agree to let me have the honour of escorting you to prom." He smiles, looking up at me as he hands me the flowers.

This is just like Ashley. Over the top. He likes to show off. He especially likes to show me off, although he isn't usually romantic in front of everyone else. He has a reputation to uphold, after all.

"Of course, Ashley." I smile. He stands up and pulls me to him, kissing me as he moves his hands to rest on my waist.

He smiles and looks me in the eyes. "Good. Because it would have been so awkward and embarrassing if you had said no."

I laugh at that before wrapping my arms around his neck and kissing him again as the people watching cheer for us.
