S/N- Your son's name
D/N- Your daughter's name

"Daddy looks scary!" D/N giggles as she runs to me.

I smile and lean down, scooping up my young daughter in my arms, trying not to accidentally pull her Batgirl cape.

"Don't worry about it, Batgirl, the Joker could never hurt anyone as adorable as you." I smile and go to kiss her cheek, but think better of it when I remember I've just put on my bright red liquid lipstick.

A moment later, Chris walks in, wearing his completely black suit with purple bow tie, my red lipstick smudged up his face like a smile and dark makeup around his eyes, his hair sprayed a green colour.

Y/D squeals jokingly and buries her face in my neck. Chris laughs and takes her from me, spinning around with her.

"I've got you now, Batgirl." He says in his most Joker-y voice.

"Oh no you don't, Joker!" S/N shouts as he runs into the room, throwing his batarang toy at Chris.

It hits him in the back. Chris groans a little and collapses to the ground, putting D/N down carefully. He lays on the floor on his back, trying not to smile.

"You got me, Batman." He says quietly.

I collapse next to him, on my knees on the floor, throwing my arm around him. "No! J!"

He smiles slightly and looks up at me, taking my hand. "It'll be okay, Harley." He leans up and kisses me softly, making our children look away.

I giggle softly and help Chris up. "Now, come on Batman and Batgirl, it's time to get going. We don't want it to be too dark when we go out." I smile.

It's Halloween tonight, so me and Chris are taking our children trick or treating. I managed to convince everyone that it would be fun to do a group costume. That's how we ended up dressed as Joker, Harley Quinn, Batgirl and Batman.

Heading out of the house, we start walking around town, me and Chris holding hands and smiling as we watch S/N and D/N excitedly going up to houses and getting candy. We don't let them out of our sight, but we hang back a little so they can go up by themselves.

After all, it's good for them to have some independence.

I lean my head against Chris's arm as our two children run back over to us, excited smiles on their faces, their trick or treating bags full to the brim of candy and chocolate.

"Mommy, daddy, look at how much candy we've got!" D/N says excitedly, looking up at us.

Chris leans down and picks her up, smiling. She's young enough to still be able to pick up.

"Lets get you two back to the Bat Cave." He smiles.

S/N holds my hand as we walk, heading back home. I look at everyone else's costumes as we walk, admiring the effort that went into most of them.

When we get home, we walk over to the kitchen table, S/N and D/N scrabbling up onto chairs.

Me and Chris lay out the candy that they got on the table, dividing it up into different kinds. We usually do this, both so that we can check there isn't anything in there that isn't candy, and so that they get a more even split.

Plus, anything that they don't like, me and Chris get if we like it.

We spend the rest of the night dividing up candy fairly and answering the door to trick or treaters, handing out the candy we brought.

We help S/N and D/N get ready for bed before tucking them in and leaving them to go to sleep, heading downstairs.

Sitting on the couch, Chris puts on a scary movie, wrapping his arm around my shoulder as I snuggle up to him.

"You know, a lot of girls dress up as Harley Quinn now, but you definitely pull it off best." He whispers, kissing my cheek softly.

"And you're definitely the hottest Joker I've ever seen."

Happy Halloween!
