Welcome to the year 2109.
In 2020 all of the scientist around the world gathered in one city to perform an "experiment," and ended up blowing the entire city off of the earth. Nobody ever figured out what happened to them. Because there were no more scientists, to the general public, earth was brought to a technological halt. But that's not the focus here.
People are getting "powers" so to speak. We don't know why. We usually don't know how. We do know that we have to protect the world from those with evil intentions. That's our job. Recruit the heroes and defeat the villains. Sounds easy? It shouldn't, but if it does, then trust me, it's not.
