I wish my family understood. I have never felt this way for anyone. These last few weeks with Man-Man have been wonderful. The only person I can talk to about this is Ebony. This is the first time I can't wait to get to class.
We all take our seats and Ms. Henry asks everyone to pass up their homework.
"CRAP", she must have assigned it when I was daydreaming about Man-Man. Mom is going to kill me!
Ebony must have seen the horror on my face because she tapped me on my arm, "Girl I got your homework. It was a group project and I just put your name on the paper. I knew you would not have it done. Plus, remember when you did it for me last month."
That was the best news I heard in forever. Last thing I need right now is Kayla holding something over my head, "I knew I loved you for some reason."
We both giggled.
The trumpet sounds and we rush out of class, "So what is the latest new on the home front?" Ebony says with a low voice.
With a smile on my face, "Everything is great. Man-Man wrote me a letter. Would you like to read it?"
"What do you think?" Ebony said with her head to one side and her hand on her hip.
"Please be discrete. I do not want anyone else to read."
"Absolutely!"
I reach into my pocket and pass her the note.
She sit down on the stool in the hall and starts to read.
My Dearest Ira,
Nothing can compare to the joy you have brought into my life. These past few weeks of knowing and spending time with you will be something I'll cherish always. Every moment I am thinking about your beautiful smile, those gorgeous eyes, and the way I feel every time we embrace. I don't think you understand what you are doing to me. To be honest I don't understand. I can't eat or think. Everything is about you. Each time we go our separate way I cannot wait until we meet again.
I was in the stable thinking about our picnic. Nothing else in the world mattered. When I was laying on your lap looking up at those gorgeous brown eyes and you were feeding me grapes it was like the world stood still.
The fact that you are a maid does not bother me. I just wish we did not have to keep our relationship a secret. If anyone found out that we have been leaving our Kingdoms it could mean death for us both. I will find a way for us to be together. I am working with some friends and they said that they are willing to help us as much as possible.
Till we meet again my love,
Man-Man
Ebony had one tear fall from her eye, "This man is in love, but you are promised to someone else. Tata what are you going to do? Do you love him?"
As I lowered head and whispered, "Yes. I did not mean to fall in love. It just happened. I love this man more than anything. I have no clue what I am going to do. I feel like my life is nothing without him. We are a part of each other's souls."
"Have you slept with him Tata?" Ebony asked in shock.
"No, but we did come close."
"So what stopped you?" Ebony asked
"I told him that the only man I will sleep with is my husband. That is one precious thing I will keep. Mom always said that your virginity is something special that is meant for your husband, and once you give it away it's gone. Don't get me wrong I do love this man, but I will have to marry him before I sleep with him."
