"So, who was Kana exactly? Was she a friend of yours from childhood?" I asked her while writing down on what she said so far.

Alice stayed quiet for a few minutes probably not sure on what to say or how to answer my questions about Kana.

Will she tell me about this girl named Kana? Or try to change the subject?

"Kana was a childhood friend of mine who I hanged out with at my old school before the academy. We were pretty close." She replied while looking at me.

"Oh I see. And did Kana ever keep in contact after you moved to Vina Valley or what? Did something happen like maybe a fight that played into what happened at the academy?" I asked, not sure on how I should have asked her that on that certain matter.

"No, she had nothing to do with the academy but she did have part in what happened at my school before the events at Vina Valley Academy."

I lean back in my chair and folded my hands together and said "Like what kind of events? Can you clearly on that a bit?"

"There was a lot of bullying at my old school especially on Kana. So, let's just say things got out of hand and leave it at that." Was all she said to me.

I nodded my head and said "mmmm, I see, I see. Did the bullying ever affect you or even after your mom died, if you don't mind me asking."

"No, not especially. Not many people knew that my mom had died or that my dad had remarried."

But before I could ask anything else, Ms. Hale comes in and says "I am so sorry to interrupt your meeting with Ms. Smith but you have a call from your wife, it's a personal matter."

"It's fine, Ms. Hale and thank you for letting me know. I will be there in a minute." I said to her before she quickly leaves the room and closes the door behind her.

"Well, I guess we will have to cut our meeting short today, Alice. I am sorry about that."

"No, it's fine. Is your wife okay?" She asks me.

"Oh no. She's pregnant with our 6th child and has been feeling a little sick for a while since she's so close to her due date." I replied.

"Oh I see. And congrats by the way for you know the pregnancy and everything."

"Oh thanks." I said as we get up and walk out of my office towards the front desk.

"Well, I will see next time and I hope everything goes well with the birth if of course the baby is born by then." She said.

"Yeah of course thank you. And I will totally see you next time. Hope you had a nice day."

"You too." She said before leaving the building.

I then take the call at the front desk before rushing over to the hospital since my wife had to go to the hospital due to her being in labor.

While on the way there, I couldn't stop thinking about the girl named Kana and if everything Alice had was true. And if it was, how much was she hiding from me and why.
