"Ryan killed someone at the lake?" I said with an eyebrow raised at her.

"Yes he did or that's what the police who showed up at the scene told me and his parents when they interviewed his friends and any other witnesses there." Ms. Spinx said before sipping some of her tea and setting it back down on the coffee table in front of us.

"I see. Was there any evidence to prove that he actually did do this or something else to suggest otherwise?" I asked.

"As far the police were concerned, yes. He was the one who had a knife in his hand and blood on his clothes when they arrived at the scene. Plus, from what they were told, Ryan seemed like he enjoyed it. Don't know what really happened down there but he was a sweet boy before all of this happened. Somehow he must have snapped, with his parents being busy a lot and what happened with Dawn and her family, it must have been all too much for the boy." Ms. Spinx said.

"Dawn? Is she a friend of his from school?" I asked.

"In a way, I suppose. They're cousins. They used to play together as kids when their families got together for events and the such. But as the years went on, they stopped hanging out together. Probably due to Dawn being so popular at school." She said before taking another sip of tea.

"I see. Did Dawn have any connection to what happened at the lake? Like maybe she knew something or saw what happened there?"

Ms. Spinx was silent for a moment, then said "Yes, she did talk to a girl from what I remember. While out hanging with her friends at the mall. I think the girl's name started with a 'k'."

"Was the name by any chance Kana?"

She then widened her eyes with recognition and surprise while saying "Why yes. It was Kana. She had made friends with her when they were there, I believe."

"Can you tell me what happened that day? Did Dawn say anything about what happened between her and Kana?"

"No, she didn't. Just that she talked to her. You would have to talk to Dawn about it. But I doubt she would want to speak with you."

"Please I must speak with her. It may have to do something with my client. Every bit helps." I said.

Ms. Spinx sighs.

"Very well. I'll call her now and ask her to come over. But I can't promise she'll come."

"No worries. That won't be a problem. I got time."
