The Element of Courage

The next morning I woke up and looked to see Shiny not in bed, "Shiny? Where are you?" I hear him yell from the bathroom that he's in the shower. I laugh a bit and walk downstairs and start making breakfast, as I cook I start humming my mother's lullaby that she used to sing to me before she was banished.

I didn't hear Shiny come up behind me and kiss my cheek, "Shiny don't scare me like that you meanie." I pouted and he just chuckled, "Well sorry, couldn't resist. Your reactions are always so funny, ready to find out about your necklace from the Tree of Harmony?" I nod and we quickly eat and get ready to head out to the Twilight's to see if she knows anything about why I got this necklace.

Walking through town I hear a familiar howl and I turn around with wide eyes, "Blue? Is that you?" I look around and I see a familiar blue and white wolf, I smile as he tackles me to the ground and licks my face. "It is you! Oh Blue I missed you so much boy!" He barks and wags his tail, Blue is my pet wolf, I rescued him from being attacked by a Timberwolf.

Shiny smiles at how happy I am, he knew Blue for as long as I have and he and Blue get along really well. He takes Blue with him when he is working with the rest of the Royal Guards, Blue helps track down certain enemies when they hear about plans of being attacked.

We get to Twilight's place and I knock on her door, "Twilight? It's me, can I come in?" I hear Twilight yell that the door is unlocked so Shiny and I walk in. She smiles and we both hug, "I missed you too Twilight, so listen I have an interesting story for you." Twilight tilts her head and raises a brow in confusion, "What do you mean Moon?" She then looked down at the necklace I'm wearing and her eyes go wide, "Where did that necklace..? Wait.. is that..? From the Tree of Harmony?"

I nodded in reply, "You see, Shiny and I went out to the Tree of Harmony, and when I walked to the tree a box appeared. I touched the box and it reacted, when I woke up this necklace appeared and I don't know why." She thinks for a minute before looking through her books, after a while she comes back over to us, "Sorry guys, but this is unusual even for me, I mean when my friend's and I got the elements we needed keys, but this is the first time I have heard of that happening without a key. Maybe Celestia or your mom knows about it, we can try asking them."

I think she may be right, I might have to go into the dream realm tonight and ask my mom, maybe she knows about this happening. That night when I fell asleep I entered the dream realm and I see my mom looking around at all the happy dream bubbles of the other ponies in Ponyville, "Mom!" She looks over and smiles at me, "Moon, my precious daughter," I run over to her and we hug eachother tightly. "Oh mom, I miss you so much and I wanted to come see you to talk to you." She tilts her head, "whatever is the matter my Moon?"

I sigh and start explaining everything to her and she listens to every word. After I finish she looks lost in thought for a minute before replying, "It seems that the tree chose you to be a new element of Harmony, and I couldn't be anymore proud of you Moon. You represent the element of Courage, you've always had it deep in your heart for as long as I can remember. You've always stayed strong even when I wasn't around, and you fought to protect those you care about even if meant your life was at stake. I may not have been there for you when you were a foal, but I am here for you now, I love you so much my precious Moon." She kisses my forehead and we hug again as I let some tears run down my face, "mom, I don't want to wake up yet, but you have a duty to protect these ponies from nightmares."

She wipes away my tears with her hoof, "don't cry Moon, no matter how far away we are I will always love you and I will always be watching over you in your dreams." I smile and go back to my soundless sleep, I hope me being a new element won't change anything between any of my friends and family.. especially Shiny, I wouldn't want him to treat me any differently.

I can't wait to tell him in the morning!
